NCAAF Rumors & News: Early AP Top 25 Poll Betting Analysis
Previous Betting News
Believe it or not, we’re just three months away from the start of the 2021 college football season! After last year’s abbreviated season with limited fans, we’re hoping to have a normal college football season in 2021. Speaking of normal, the teams that are normally hovering around the top of the rankings are once again in a familiar spot in the preseason ratings.
Let’s take a look at some of the top teams in the preseason Top 25 so you can your bets against their NCAAF odds.
NCAA Football Rumors & Betting News May 24th Edition
5. Georgia Bulldogs
Kirby Smart has the Bulldogs ready to contend for an SEC title again in 2021. Quarterback JT Daniels is primed to have a great year after using last year as a learning season. The offense averaged over 32 points per game last season, so the Bulldogs are looking to top that this year. Offensive coordinator Todd Monken will be able to accomplish more this season with his strong group.
Defensively, the Georgia Bulldogs will be strong upfront. They led the league in rushing defense last season, and with many of the starters returning, they should hold the top spot again. The secondary has some holes to fill, but once they get that figured out, they should be solid.
4. Ohio State Buckeyes
The Buckeyes are once again the favorite to win the Big 10. Even though they lost a lot of players from last year’s squad, the Ohio State Buckeyes are once again loaded with talent. The receiving corps could be the best in the country. Once the Buckeyes find their quarterback, he’ll have an arsenal full of weapons at his disposal.
Defensively, the Buckeyes will be ready. They struggled with the pass last season, but Ryan Day has made sure to find some great players to fill some of the holes on the Buckeye defense.
3. Oklahoma Sooners
Lincoln Riley’s squad missed the playoffs in 2020, but they’re poised for a National Title run in 2021. The Sooners will have one of the top offenses in the country, and Spencer Rattler will be at the helm again. Oklahoma will have a solid offensive line, along with a plethora of running backs that can pick defenses apart.
The one main weakness of the Oklahoma Sooners year in and year out is the defense. However, this is the most talented group of defenders that Riley has had. This could be the year that Oklahoma finally puts everything together.
2. Clemson Tigers
Dabo Swinney is once again near the top of the rankings. Even though Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne have departed for the NFL, Clemson will still have a ton of talent returning. After losing to Ohio State in the semi-finals, Clemson will be on a mission. DJ Uiagalelei will be under center and will have a ton of talented players surrounding him.
Defensively, the Tigers will be strong once again. The defensive front will have a ton of depth, and the rest of the unit will be full of speed and athleticism. The secondary could be a weakness, but if they can overcome that, Clemson should be in the playoffs again.
1. Alabama Crimson Tide
No surprise here, Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide are sitting atop the preseason rankings. Although Alabama lost a good portion of the offense from last year’s National Championship team, Bill O’Brien will have a ton of talent to work with.
Even though Alabama lost some key defensive players, many are predicting that the Tide will be even better defensively this season. If that’s the case, it’s going to be hard for anyone to stop this talented group.

NCAAF 2021 Regular Season: AP Top 25 Betting Update
Previous Betting News
After a crazy weekend of games, the latest AP Top 25 poll has been released. We saw some movement within the Top 10 as three teams moved into the top half of the rankings. Let’s take a look at the Top 10, and we’ll also delve into a premier matchup that you may want to take a look at when placing some wagers against the NCAAF odds.
NCAA Football Betting – Top 25 Analysis and Opportunities
1. Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama remained at the top of the poll with a huge victory over Southern Miss. Ole Miss comes to Tuscaloosa this weekend, and Lane Kiffin has one of the top offenses in the country. We’ll see if the strong Alabama defense can withstand a high-flying attack from the Rebels.
2. Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia stays at #2 this week. They’ll have a tough test this weekend as they host the surging Arkansas Razorbacks. They’ve only allowed two touchdowns this season, so they’ll be looking to continue their string of defensive success.
3. Oregon Ducks
The Oregon Ducks are the clear favorites to win the Pac 12. If they can continue on their path, the next biggest challenge will be at the Rose Bowl against UCLA. An undefeated regular season could earn them a berth in the College Football Playoffs.
4. Penn State Nittany Lions
With two wins over ranked teams, the Nittany Lions have found themselves inside the Top 5. A trip to Iowa in a couple of weeks could change a few things.
5. Iowa Hawkeyes
Speaking of Iowa, the Hawkeyes come in at #5 this week. They struggled early in their victory over Colorado State, but they got the win.
6. Oklahoma Sooners
Despite still being undefeated, the Oklahoma Sooners have dropped from #4 to #6. With their disappointing effort in their victory over West Virginia, the Sooners are looking for some answers, especially on offense.
7. Cincinnati Bearcats
This is the game of the year for Cincinnati as they travel to Notre Dame to take on the Fighting Irish. If they can win this one, they have a legitimate chance of earning a spot in the playoffs.
8. Arkansas Razorbacks
After their victory over then #7 Texas A&M, the Razorbacks have moved into the Top 10 for the first time in many years. They have a date with Georgia this weekend, so we’ll see how long they stay in the Top 10.
9. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
After their 4th quarter surge against Wisconsin, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are showing everyone that they’re for real. With a win over Cincinnati on Saturday, they could move up into the Top 5.
10. Florida Gators
After nearly beating Alabama two weeks ago, they rebounded with a big win over Tennessee. The SEC will be tough, but Florida has shown that they can compete with anyone.
A Battle Between Two 10 Teams
As we stated earlier, the Arkansas Razorbacks will take on the Georgia Bulldogs this Saturday. Georgia comes into this one as an 18.5-point favorite. This game is at Georgia, and we like the Bulldogs to win this one, but we’re going to take Arkansas and the points.
Sam Pittman’s squad will put up a good fight, but they don’t have enough offensive firepower to defeat the powerful Georgia defense. Georgia wins 27-14.
