NCAAF Season Week 16 O/U Picks Expert Analysis

Written by on December 15, 2020

We are, at this point, limping towards the end of the college football season, with a slew of postponed games lying in the wake. You do, though, need to give credit to the teams and conferences who were able to deliver a season in particularly trying circumstances. This weekend is when we get to see the Conference Championship Games played, although we have already had a change, with COVID keeping the Washington Huskies out of the PAC 12 Championship Game. We hope that this is the only game affected from this point forward, but there are no guarantees. We are making our picks under the assumption that these games will all go, but you should probably have a replacement or two in your back pocket, just in case. With that in mind, let’s get right to our Week 16 O/U picks so you can keep on betting against their NCAAF odds.

O/U Picks for Week 16 | 2020 College Football Betting

Florida State Seminoles at Wake Forest Demon Deacons (OVER 66)

You could well say that both of these teams are coming into the final game of the season with nothing to play for, but a Wake Forest win would mean that they end up with a winning season. Sure, 5-4 is not their ideal finish, but putting together an above .500 record in such a challenging season needs to be seen as something of a success. The only thing we are concerned about here, though, is the point total, which is set at a rather lofty 66 points. The OVER has hit in 6 of the last 8 games for Florida State and also in 5 of the last 7 for Wake Forest, but there is one more trend that I like. That is that the Demon Deacons have seen the OVER hit in 8 of their last 9 versus teams with a losing record.

Northwestern Wildcats Vs Ohio State Buckeyes (OVER 57 ½)

It has been a rough season for the Big Ten, as they started late and failed to get in many of their games due to the virus. The Ohio State Buckeyes only managed 5 regular season games, winning them all, which is usually not enough to be eligible for the Conference Championship Game. Given the nature of the season, concessions were made to allow them to play against Northwestern this weekend in the big game. The under has been trending for Northwestern, but they are going to need to open up to keep pace with the Buckeyes offense. The OVER has hit in 6 of the last 7 meetings between these teams, so let’s stick with that trend.

Washington State Cougars at Utah Utes (UNDER 57 ½)

This is one of those games where you look at the point total and the trend and automatically lean towards the over. I am looking the other way, though, and taking a little bit of a chance with this one. The Washington State Cougars saw their game on UNDER last weekend, which means that they have now seen 5 of their last 6 games in the month of December go that route. We also need to look a little deeper at the Utes record with the point total, which is at 1-5-1 O/U in their last 7 games versus a team with a losing record. This is a dangerous pick, but that’ all part of the parlay fun.
