NCAAF 2020 Season Week 9 ATS Picks Expert Analysis

NCAAF Season Week 9 ATS Picks Expert Analysis

Written by on October 26, 2020

As we head into Week 9 of the college football season, it is time to start really paying attention to the rankings. The Big Ten teams have arrived, with Ohio State making an immediate impact and moving into the top 4. While it was certainly a great showing by the Buckeyes, we do need to remember that it was their first game of the season and that there are much tougher challenges to come. At the top, it is Clemson and Alabama who are once again setting the tone, as they both continue to blow away all of the teams that they face. They are likely going to have some big spreads to overcome in the coming weeks, but if that makes you nervous when betting, there are plenty of other games to look at. We have picked out a trio of ATS picks for Week 9 so you can keep placing your bets against their NCAAF odds.

NCAAF ATS Picks for Week 9 | College Football Betting

Purdue Boilermakers (-7) at Illinois Fighting Illini

There is a bit of a lopsided look to the Big Ten in terms of how the divisions are set up. The East Division is absolutely stacked, while the West is usually wide open and there for the taking. The Purdue Boilermakers got off to a good start by knocking of the Iowa Hawkeyes 24-20 in their opening game of the season. They will try to make it back to back wins when hitting the road to face Illinois this coming Saturday. Rondale Moore, who opted out of the season, will be returning, but he will miss this game for Purdue. As for the Fighting Illini, they need to find a way to bounce back after a 45-7 thumping at the hands of Wisconsin in their opening game of the season. They will be in as a 7-point dog at home, and it is worth noting that the road team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two. Purdue to cover.

Kansas State Wildcats (+3) at West Virginia Mountaineers

After losing their opening game of the season, Kansas State has been on a tear, winning each of their last 4 games. That win has moved them to #16 in the national rankings, but more importantly, it has taken them to the top of the Big 12 standings, where they are a perfect 4-0 in conference play. Through their opening 5 games of the season, the Wildcats have gone 4-1 ATS. They are a perfect 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games versus conference foes. It has been a tougher start to the year for the Mountaineers, as they are just 3-2 through their first 5 games of the season. They are 3-6 ATS in their last 9 games played in Week 9. I am taking the Wildcats to win and cover.

Missouri Tigers at Florida Gators (-13 ½)

After cruising through their opening 2 games of the season, the Florida Gators are now looking for a bounce back game after losing to Texas A&M as a 6 ½ point favorite. They missed last week’s game due to COVID issues on campus, so they have certainly had plenty of time to think about that loss. This weekend, they will be back in action against a Missouri Tigers team that has turned things around in the last couple of weeks. The Tigers could have folded after back to back losses to start the season, but they are now on a modest 2-game win streak. In this matchup, though, it is the favorite that has covered in 4 of the last 5, so I’m leaning towards Florida.
