TCU At Baylor College Football Winning Favorites

Written by on November 1, 2016

What looked like a promising season for the Big 12 Conference, in regards getting a team into the playoffs, has turned into a bit of a nightmare. There were a pair of conference teams, the Baylor Bears and West Virginia Mountaineers, heading into last week with unbeaten records, but both ended up losing. That has put the conference in a bit of a tough spot, and these teams are going to need some help if they are to have any hope of landing in the final 4 once the season draws to close. It all begins with helping themselves, though, and Baylor will have the chance to do just that when they host the TCU Horned Frogs this coming weekend. We have witnessed some incredible games between these two over the years, with the 61-58 Baylor win the last time they met in Waco being the one that stands out. I’m certain we won’t see that type of score this weekend, but we do now that Baylor will start this one as a 9-point favorite. Find the latest online college football odds here.

Why bet on the TCU Horned Frogs

To say that it has been a disappointing year for the Horned Frogs is something of an understatement. They will come into this one with a 4-4 record, and it must be said that betting against them has been lucrative this year, as they are also 1-7 ATS. TCU will arrive in Waco having lost back to back games, including a 27-24 loss to Texas Tech last week as a 10-point favorite. The one thing that may fall in their favor here is that they will be facing a Baylor team that might still be a little rattled after taking their first loss of the season last week. If TCU Horned Frogs can come out and score early, they may just be able to plant a little seed of doubt.

Why bet on the Baylor Bears

The big question heading into this week is whether Baylor are going to be able to bounce back from their stunning 35-34 defeat to Texas last week. They went into that one as a 3.5-point favorite, but given how things have been going for the Longhorns this season, it was assumed that the Bears would go in and cover quite comfortably. Over the years, the Bears have had problems covering the spread against TCU, and are just 1-5 ATS in games played in Waco since 1992. These games tend to be close, and you have to think that Baylor are more concerned with just getting the win here than worrying about covering the 9 points.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

These match-ups always seem to go right down to the ire, but I think that Baylor feel that they have something to prove this weekend after losing to Texas. I think they are going to go out and try to make a statement versus TCU, and I believe they will cover.
