With Week 14 of the topsy-turvy 2020 college football campaign upon us, it’s time to take a look at the most recent winners and losers inside the national Top 25. While the past week saw no movement from the top seven teams in the nation, a handful of other Top 25 teams both rose and fell based on last weekend’s performances. College Football Top 25 – Winners and Losers After Week 13
Top-ranked Alabama and No. 3 Clemson stayed put after dominant wins last weekend while No. 2 Notre Dame learned Tuesday that it clinched a spot in the ACC championship game in its first season as a football member of the conference.
Sixth-ranked Florida (7-1), No. 7 Cincinnati (8-0), and No. 10 Miami (7-1), all held their spots this week while No. 8 Georgia (6-2) moved up one spot following its 45-16 blowout win over South Carolina.
Winners
- Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State (6-2), was the week’s biggest winners by moving up eight spots to No. 15 following its high-scoring 50-44 home win against Texas Tech.
- Iowa State
Iowa State (7-2), is the only newcomer to the top 10, rising four spots to No. 9 following Friday’s stunning 23-20 road win against Texas, which fell out of the rankings. The Cyclones are now virtually assured of a berth in the Big 12 championship game, in which it likely will face No. 11 Oklahoma.
- Louisiana
Louisiana (8-1), which opened the season with a win at Iowa State, rounds out the CFP rankings at No. 25.
- Coastal Carolina
Coastal Carolina rose two spots to No. 18 after improving to 9-0 on the season. The Chanticleers take on unranked, but 9-1 Liberty this weekend..
- Iowa
Iowa (4-2), moved up five spots to No. 19 following its thrilling 26-20 home win against Nebraska.
- BYU
BYU rose a spot to No. 13 after not playing last week. The FBS Independent Cougars play San Diego State on Dec. 12.
- Washington
Washington improved to 3-0 after a historic 24-21 comeback against Utah to make it its CFP rankings debut at No. 22. The Huskies play next week at Oregon.
Losers
- Oregon
Defending Pac-12 champion Oregon fell eight spots to No. 23 following its stunning 41-38 road loss to rival Oregon State.
- Northwestern
Northwestern (5-1), was the only team in the initial CFP top 10 to fall out, dropping six spots to No. 14 following its crushing 29-20 road loss against Michigan State.
- Indiana
Indiana was both, a winner – and loser – in Week 14 though the Hoosiers remain in 12th place. Indiana lost star quarterback Michael Penix Jr. for the rest of the season due to a torn ACL.
