We are now at the stage of the college football season where a single loss can undo all the hard work that teams have put in up to this point. You need only look at last week’s results to get an idea of what we are talking about here. The LSU Tigers were at #5 before losing to Florida, while the previously unbeaten Oklahoma Sooners saw their stock drop dramatically after a loss to Texas. The playoffs now look like a lost cause for both of those teams and the same would be true for the loser of this one, if it’s not already the case.
Both the Washington Huskies and the Oregon Ducks are coming into this crucial PAC 12 match-up with a loss under their belts, but the Huskies have the better deal of it, as their loss was a non-conference one versus a very good SEC opponent. The Ducks lost to another PAC 12 foe and will be out of the running for the North Division with a loss here. It goes without saying that this is a huge game for both teams. Washington is in as a 3-point favorite, with the point total set at 57 ½.

Why bet on the Washington Huskies?
The Huskies have essentially been playing playoff football since Week 2 after going down to Auburn in their season opener. There is a ton of pressure on this team, as they are well aware that their playoff hopes are over with another loss. As it is, they now need to run the table and win the PAC 12 Championship Game just to have a shot at getting into the final four, as well as hoping that one of the top teams also slips up along the way.
The Huskies are certainly doing their part, winning 5 in a row after losing in Week 1. They have been an effective road team over the past few seasons, going 12-5 SU in games away from home. Where they have fallen down, though, is in games played in Oregon, winning just once in their last 8 visits.

Why bet on the Oregon Ducks?
The Ducks have just one loss on the season, but it is on that looms very large. They lost 38-31 to Stanford a couple of weeks back, a defeat that put a serious dent in their hopes of winning a conference crown. It is not being too dramatic to say that a loss here almost certainly kills any hopes that they have of sneaking into the conference title game, as they would essentially be 2 games back of Washington who are unbeaten in conference play.
The Ducks have not done a very good job of covering the spread, going 1-5 ATS in their last 6 and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. They do tend to cover against the Huskies, though, going 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 home tilts against Washington.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction
This is going to be a close one, as well as potentially being one of the most entertaining games to watch on the Week 7 schedule. I have Washington winning this one, but I would not be stunned to see a push. I like the OVER in this one.
