Week 11 College Football Expert Picks: Auburn At Georgia

Written by on November 8, 2016

The SEC Conference has long been considered the strongest in college football, and for good reason. There always seems to be an SEC team winning, or at the very least appearing in, the National Championship game, and it is the Alabama Crimson Tide who are the current defending champions. This has been a bit of a down year for the conference, though, especially in the East Division, where no team has made a major mark. You know things are a little off when the Kentucky Wildcats are in the running to win it, but their bid took a serious knock last week when they fell at home to the Georgia Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are back in SEC action this weekend, only this time they will be facing a team from the West Division when the Auburn Tigers head into Athens. Auburn still have a slim outside shot at winning their division, but they need to keep winning and hope that Alabama slip up ahead of the Iron Bowl in a few weeks. Auburn are coming into this one as a 10-point road online betting favorite.

Here’s A Closer Look At The Week 11 College Football Expert Picks: Auburn Tigers At Georgia Bulldogs

When: Saturday, November 12 at 3:30 PM EST Where: Sanford Stadium, Athens TV: CBS NCAAF Odds: TBA

Why bet on the Auburn Tigers

It may not have been the best start to the 2016 college football season for the Auburn Tigers, but they have gotten hot at just the right time. They head into Georgia having reeled off 6 straight wins, and they have done it by being brutally effective at running the football. This is not a team that is going to beat anyone through the air, but they can grind out huge chunks of real estate, whilst also killing the clock by running the football. That said, the Tigers struggled to put away a stubborn Vanderbilt last week, and they will remember that they went down to the Bulldogs in a low-scoring affair last season. This is not a game that they will be taking for granted.

Why bet on the Georgia Bulldogs

We are still patiently waiting for the game where the Bulldogs offense puts it all together in the same week. They have had solid efforts through the air ruined by a lack of movement on the ground, and vice versa this season. The good news is that they came close to putting the pieces together in a come from behind 27-24 win in Kentucky last week. They tallied 215 yards on the ground, while freshman QB Jacob Eason tossed for 245 and looked comfortable in doing so. Georgia has been very good defensing the run for the most part this season, and will have a chance to spring the upset if they can slow the Tigers running game down.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

The Auburn Tigers are red hot right ow, and while I fully expect them to get the win this weekend, I don’t think it is going to be as convincing as many people expect. I like Auburn to win and the Bulldogs to cover.
