The Bulldogs have been a bit of a one man team this season, as QB Nick Fitzgerald has been too often asked to be the man to do it all. He can pass and he can run, but he has precious little in the way of talent surrounding him. It’s no real surprise then that Mississippi State have fallen to a rather dismal 4-7 this season. They are coming into this one having lost back to back games, and they have only 1 win in their last 5. The fact that they have surrendered 109 points in those last two games is a sign of just how porous they are on the defensive side of the ball. The Mississippi State Bulldogs are 4-7 ATS, but they are a winning 3-2 ATS as an underdog.

You have to believe that if Chad Kelly were healthy, this thing would be over all too quickly, and we would also probably be looking at a larger spread. He should be a lot more comfortable now with a pair of games under his belt, and that could prove to be bad news for the Bulldogs. The big question here is whether this poor Rebels defense is going to be able to put the brakes on Fitzgerald. If they can do that, they win handily.
