It’s an absolutely huge weekend in the world of college football, as we will know who all the conference champions are by the time Saturday night comes to a close. Normally, we try to pick out some games that we really like from a jam-packed schedule, but this week we are going to do something different. We are going to take a look at the Power 5 Conference Championship Games and pick what we believe is the best College Football Betting options for each. Remember, the first of these games goes on Friday night, so let’s start with that one.
NCAAF Weekend games: Betting Opportunities Worth Taking in Week 14
PAC-12 – Utah Utes Vs USC Trojans
The Conference Championship Game is always a big deal, but it’s even bigger for USC, who will make the playoffs if they come away with the win. It has been a great season for them, going 11-1, but this will not be an easy matchup against the 9-3 Utah Utes. The Trojans are in as a modest favorite for this game, but I am looking at playing the point total here. USC is on a run that has seen the OVER hit in each of their last 6, as well as in 6 of their last 8 versus Utah. I think we get more of the same here.
Big 12 – Kansas State Wildcats Vs TCU Horned Frogs
I think that TCU are in the same spot as USC here, as winning the Big 12 will put them in the playoffs. They are sitting at 12-0 heading into this one, but a loss here could see them fall out of the top 4. The pressure is one, with TCU in as a modest 2 ½ point favorite over Kansas State, who finished the regular season at 9-3. Both teams have been good against the spread of late, but I think the pick here is to take TCU to cover as a 2-point favorite.
SEC – LSU Tigers Vs Georgia Bulldogs
Regardless of what happens here, I think we will still see the defending national champions in the playoffs. Georgia has been consistently good all season and are arguably the best team in the nation. They will go against LSU as a 17 ½ point favorite, which seems like a pretty big spread for a championship game. LSU is 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings with Georgia, and I think they cover here in a losing cause.
ACC – Clemson Tigers Vs UNC Tar Heels
Given that neither of these teams has a shot at the playoffs, this is very much a consolation prize type of game for both. Clemson is a 7 ½ point favorite, with the point total for this one set at 63 ½, which seems a little on the high side to me. I am a little torn here, as I think the UNDER might well be the way to go. That said, I also think this one might be close, so I am also taking the Tar Heels to cover the spread.
Big Ten – Purdue Boilermakers Vs Michigan Wolverines
Odds aside, this is the one game out of the 5 that looks to be the most potentially lopsided to me. With a perfect season and a blowout win over Ohio State to close things out, Michigan are almost certainly playoff bound, but they can put an exclamation point on things by winning the conference championship. They are in as a 17-point favorite over Purdue and seem to be good value for that.
