2021 College Football Season

  • When: Thursday, Sep. 16 – Saturday, Sep. 18

Friday, Sep. 17 Matches

  • Maryland -8 / Illinois

Tua Tagovailoa’s brother, Taulia, throws for the Maryland Terrapins. The Terps are 2-0 after a victory over West Virginia and beating inferior Howard. Illinois is better than Howard, but the home team is still an inferior foe. Maryland rolls.

NCAAF Pick: Maryland

Saturday, Sep. 18 Matches

  • Nebraska / Oklahoma -22

After losing 22-30 to Illinois in their first game, many felt the Cornhuskers would fold. A 52-7 win over Fordham and a 28-3 victory agianst Buffalo shows the Huskers are back on track. Does that mean they keep this close against Oklahoma? Nope. Sooners all the way.

NCAAF Pick: Oklahoma

  • Virginia Tech / West Virginia -2 ½

How good is VA Tech? The Hokies beat North Carolina 17-10 and then dominated Middle Tennessee State 35-14. West Virginia bounced back from the tough loss to Maryland with a 66-0 victory as a -50 chalk. The Mountaineers may not be as good of a team as VA Tech. But they do have an edge in this. Give the Mountaineers the nod.

NCAAF Pick: West Virginia

  • Michigan State / Miami -5 ½

Miami’s 25-23 win over Appalachian State in week 2 impresses in the sense that App State is one of the better teams in the Sun Belt Conference. But Michigan State running back Kenneth Walker III has 321 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns in 2 games and the Canes allow 150 rushing yards per. Sparty can win this straight up.

NCAAF Pick: Michigan State

  • Alabama / Florida -15 ½

Alabama is the best team in the nation, no doubt. But this happens in The Swamp versus one of Bama’s better SEC opponents. If any team should give the Tide a game, it’s Florida, right? Not really. Gator starting quarterback Emory Jones has thrown 4 interceptions in a couple of wins against Florida Atlantic and South Florida. Roll Tide.

NCAAF Pick: Alabama

  • Mississippi State -3 / Memphis

In their first game of the season, Mississippi State barely beat a strong offensive team in the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. Miss State bounced back in the second week with an impressive 24-10 victory over NC State. Memphis averages 634.5 yards per game, tops in college football. The Tigers also give up a lot of points, but this happens on their field. It’s difficult to see how Mississippi State keeps up. Consider backing Memphis on the moneyline.

NCAAF Pick: Memphis

  • Auburn / Penn State -6

In their first two games, Auburn has outscored their two opponents 122-10. Granted, the Tigers played against Akron and Alabama State. Penn State worked hard to beat Wisconsin in their first game before trouncing Ball State. Penn State should win but 6 points are too many to give to a quality SEC squad.

NCAAF Pick: Auburn

  • Virginia / North Carolina -8 ½

The Heels fell to VA Tech in week 1. In week 2, Sam Howell Jr. and the North Carolina Tar Heels bounced back with a strong 59-17 victory over Georgia State. Virginia is better than Georgia State. If this line was around UNC -4 ½ to -5 ½, we’d consider backing the Heels. At -8 ½, UVA is the play.

NCAAF Pick: Virginia

  • Arizona State -2 ½  / BYU

Arizona State is one of the better teams in the Pac 12. But, so far, the Sun Devils haven’t covered, going 0-2 ATS versus Southern Utah and UNLV. BYU upset the Utah Utes 26-17 as a +7 underdog in their last. ASU looks like the better team. BYU gets the Devils in Provo. Cougars win SU.

NCAAF Pick: BYU

  • Fresno State / UCLA -10 ½

UCLA looked great beating LSU at home in their second game of the season. The Bruins are giving up too many points in this game, though. Fresno State pushed Oregon in their second game, falling by 7, 31-24. The Bulldogs are for real. In the fourth quarter, Fresno will have a shot to win this on the moneyline.

NCAAF Pick: Fresno State
