What Teams Can Reach the 10 Win Mark in 2018?

Alabama Crimson Tide

The Tide should go undefeated. Their schedule is ridiculously easy. There are only a couple of games on the schedule that could derail Alabama’s march to an undefeated season, at LSU on Nov. 3, and versus Auburn in the Iron Bowl on Nov. 24. Even if Alabama loses both those games, which they won’t, they’ll still reach the 10-win mark. Alabama’s a lock for 10 wins.

Clemson Tigers

Like Alabama in the SEC, the Tigers should have no trouble going undefeated this season. Clemson’s got the best defensive line in the nation. They’ve got a road game versus Texas A&M on Sep. 8. Clemson should squash the Aggies by around 3 TDs. After that, Florida State is on the schedule as is Louisville. Neither team is good enough to challenge the Clemson Tigers.

Central Florida Golden Knights

The Knights went undefeated last season. That’s 16 and 0. Central Florida could go undefeated this season because they play in the AAC. Sure, Central Florida must beat North Carolina, Memphis, and South Florida on the road. But, Central Florida is better, much better, than any of those teams. Navy on Nov. 10 could be the Golden Knights only loss this season. That’s not even a sure loss.

Penn State Nittany Lions

Is Penn State a safe bet to reach 10 wins in 2018? This season, Penn State battles Ohio State, Michigan State, and Wisconsin at home. The toughest road game on the schedule is versus Michigan on Nov. 3. If Penn State loses the road battle to Michigan on Nov. 3, they’ve still have a great shot of winning 10 games. The reason? It’s difficult to see Michigan State and Wisconsin beating Penn State in Happy Valley. Ohio State could also have a tough game versus the Nittany Lions on Sep. 29.

Washington Huskies

Like Alabama, Washington’s schedule isn’t overly difficult. Sure, they must battle Stanford, UCLA, and Oregon, but Oregon and Stanford aren’t on their level while Chip Kelly will need a year to get the Bruins to compete against a football team like Washington. Even if the Huskies lose to the Auburn Tigers on Sep. 3, they should march to an undefeated regular season because the Pac 12 doesn’t seem all that deep this year while the Huskies won’t face USC unless the Trojans make it to the Pac 12 Championship.

Wisconsin Badgers

The Badgers play in the Big Ten West Division. That means they mustn’t battle Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State every year. Wisconsin has two games on the schedule that they could lose:  at Michigan on Oct. 13 and at Penn State on Nov. 10. The fact they don’t play Ohio State or Michigan State this season means that Wisconsin should beat everybody else on their schedule. That includes beating rival Iowa in Iowa on Sep. 12.
