NCAAF Win Totals Betting Predictions: Power 5 Conferences in 2023 Regular Season

NCAAF Win Totals Betting Predictions: Power 5 Conferences in 2023 Regular Season

One of the most popular prop bets heading into the new college football season is the win totals for each team. The bookies have an amazing knack for getting those totals just right, so that making your wagers becomes more than a little tricky, but that’s all part of the fun of betting on sports. For the purposes of this piece, we are going to focus on the Power 5 Conferences, and specifically the top 2 favorites in each. We are going to pit them head-to-head and make a NCAAF betting prediction on which team will deliver the most wins, so let’s get to it.

College Football: Who Wins More Regular Season Games? | MyBookie Regular Season Football Betting Preview

Regular Season: August 26 to December 9
Bowls: December 16 2023 to January 1 2024
CFP National Championship: Monday, January 8, 2024

ACC

In the eyes of the bookies, the ACC is essentially a 2-horse race between the Clemson Tigers and Florida State Seminoles, with the belief being that these teams are on a collision course in the Conference Championship Game. Both teams have their win totals set at 9 ½ heading into the new season, which suggests that there is very little between them. Both could conceivably hit double-digit wins in the regular season, but I am taking Clemson to win more than the Seminoles.

Big 12

While the bookies have Texas and Oklahoma in as the top 2 teams in the conference, I’d also be keeping an eye on Kansas State. We are focusing on the top 2 teams here, though, so we need to look at the Red River Showdown, which will be the last with these teams in the Big 12, as they are both off to the SEC starting next season. I have Texas winning the conference, so it stands to reason that I think they will win more games than their rivals.

Big Ten

As is generally always the case, this conference is going to come down to the winner of the game between Michigan and Ohio State in the final week of the regular season. The Buckeyes have the slight edge in the odds to win the conference, but it really does look like a coin flip. In an article I wrote earlier, I had Michigan going to the playoffs for the 3rd straight year, so let’s take them to win more games than Ohio State.

PAC 12

The future of this conference is more than a little uncertain, with only 4 teams set to remain after this season. The PAC 12 looks to be very much up for grabs, but it is the USC Trojans and Washington Huskies who the bookies see as the top 2 teams in the conference. There are a couple of others who could upset the apple cart, but I think this is going to be a big year for the Trojans, which is why I think they will win the most games in this conference.

SEC

You could look at the SEC and believe that this is something of a no-brainer given that Georgia looks to be the class of the conference. They are the favorites to win it, with Alabama close on their heels. These two teams look to be on a bit of a collision course, and while I expect the Crimson Tide to be better this year, I still think that the champs have a very good shot at going unbeaten again in 2023.
