Why bet on the Youngstown State Penguins?
The Penguins play out of the Missouri Valley Conference and are coming into Week 2 of the season having lost their opener, a close one, to the Butler Bulldogs. Over the last 10 seasons, Youngstown State has played a bigger team each year, losing all but one, a 31-17 win over Pitt that came back in 2012. Their last meeting with the Mountaineers came a couple of years back, a game that they managed to keep relatively close despite giving up over 600 yards of total offense. They were a 21-point underdog in that one yet managed to cover with a 38-21 loss. This one is likely to be a bit of a tougher proposition, as the current Mountaineers offense is one that is a good deal better than what they trotted out back in 2016.Why bet on the West Virginia Mountaineers?
The Mountaineers came into this season believing that they have a real shot at winning the PAC 12 and making a run at the playoffs, as they boast an offense to be reckoned with. They were a 10 ½ point favorite in Week 1 against the Tennessee Volunteers and ended up laying down a bit of a marker to the rest of the conference in that one, blowing out the Vols 40-14. While Tennessee has a new coach and are in a rebuilding phase, you still cannot deny how good a win that was for the Mountaineers. The goal this week is not to play down to the level of the opponent, but rather to continue the strong play and momentum picked up in Week 1. West Virginia has been tough to beat in their own stadium, going a solid 14-4 in their last 18 games at home.Mississippi State vs Kansas State NCAA Football Week 2 Odds & Pick
