Weekly Betting Rundown and Analysis of the Best Cricket Games | Nov. 28th Edition

The T20 World Cup 2022 is beginning to fade into a distant memory in the cricket world as the 2022-23 summer of cricket starts to take prominence instead.

England has already been whitewashed in Australia, while India has closed out a disrupted T20 series 1-0 in New Zealand. All four of these sides are back in action this week, with the addition of a few other nations as well as we see Test cricket return for the summer.

We break down the best upcoming games this week and take a look at the best betting odds ahead of these matches.

New Zealand vs India (3rd ODI, Wednesday, 30 November)

New Zealand has also suffered from the same frustrating summer rain that plagued Australia during the T20 World Cup 2022.

Of the five scheduled matches between New Zealand and India so far, only two have been allowed to proceed as usual. As a result, a lot hangs on this final ODI. If it is able to be played out with no impact from the weather, it will likely determine which side walks away from this series holding their head up high.

A New Zealand win would see them win the ODI series 2-0, which will compensate for their weak effort in the preceding T20 series. An Indian win would see them tie the ODI series 1-1, which, combined with their 1-0 T20 series win, would feel like an overall success for their tour of India.

The odds for this match are quite tight, with the home side having their noses in front at -138 against India’s +110. Take the Kiwis to win here, and inject their summer of cricket with a much-needed series win.

Australia vs West Indies (1st Test, Wednesday, 30 November to Sunday, 4 December)

Test cricket returns after an extended hiatus due to the recent focus on white ball cricket around the world, with the West Indies touring Australia.

This will be a tough series for the West Indies, who have been on a decline in recent years. The visitor’s world ranking has slipped to 8th, and they will have to pull something unexpected out of the bag if they are going to avoid a whitewash against the World No.1 Test team playing at home.

Betting on this match reflects the discrepancy in world rankings, with an Australian victory at -600 and a West Indian win at a whopping +1100.

Daring punters will remember that the West Indies have won a Test series against England this year and also whitewashed Bangladesh—these long odds could be worth a shot.

Pakistan vs England (1st Test, Thursday, 1 December to Monday, 5 December)

Another Test series begins this week, one which should be a lot tighter.

World No.4 England takes on World No.6 Pakistan, with Pakistan hosting a Test series at home for the first time in years. The two have been involved in some fantastic white ball cricket recently, with England beating Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022 final, just weeks after they contested a seven-game T20 series that ended in a 4-3 win to England.

Prior to the focus on white ball cricket, England was in hot Test cricket form, pioneering a new brand of aggressive play that saw them win six out of seven Tests. Pakistan will be eager to put a stop to that winning streak in front of a home crowd and are slight favorites to do so.

Odds are +140 for Pakistan to win, +200 for England, and +225 for a draw.
