2024 Tour de France Final Attack to the Title

Heading into the Tour de France’s final stage, most believe Tadej Pogacar is the easy winner.

Pogacar has over a 3 minute lead versus rival Jona Vingegaard.

Vingegaard, the 2023 Tour de France winner, must make up the more than 3 seconds and he’s got only a small amount of time to do so.

Will Pogacar wear the general classification trophy?

Where will Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel finish after Stage 21 on Sunday?

Check out everything to know about the final stages at the 2024 Tour de France.

Current Tour de France General Classification – Yellow Jersey

  • Tadej Pogacar
  • Jonas Vingegaard
  • Remco Evenepoel
  • Joao Almeida
  • Mikel Landa
  • Carlos Rodriguez
  • Adam Yates
  • Giulio Ciccione
  • Derek Gee
  • Santiago Buitrago

Pogacar 3 Stages Away from Winning the 2024 Tour de France

If we count Friday’s stage 19, Tadej Pogacar is just 3 stages away from scoring another Tour de France victory.

Pogacar, who is so young he won the white jersey that goes to the Tour de France’s best young cyclist in 2023, has provided an excellent bounce back performance after struggling in last year’s Tour.

Tadej entered last year’s Tour de France after missing valuable training time due to a wrist injury.

Pogacar fought hard last year, but Jonas Vingegaard was too difficult to pass on the standings.

This year, Pogacar’s and Vingegaard’s roles have switched.

While Tadej was also a part of the terrible crash that happened at the Itzulia Basque Country on April 4 this year, Jonas Vingegaard suffered more alarming injuries than Pogacar.

Tadej missed almost zero training while up until late last month, the rumor was that Vingegaard might skip the 2024 Tour de France.

So unless Pogacar falls apart, the yellow jersey should be his after Sunday’s final stage, which explains why Tadej is a massive -12000 favorite heading into the weekend.

Vingegaard must Make up 3 Minutes and 11 Seconds on Pogacar

Even if you don’t believe Jonas Vingegaard can make up the 3 minutes and 11 seconds difference in the final Tour de France stages, the odds on Jonas make him a possible play.

Vingegaard is +1100, which are massive odds.

For sure, a 3 minutes and 11 second differential between you and Tadej Pogacar is massive.

But if any cyclist can overcome the difference, it’s Jonas Vingegaard.

The Visma-Lease a Bike cyclist won one stage at the 2023 Tour de France while Pogacar won two stages yet Vingegaard managed to beat Pogacar by over 7 seconds.

Things are much different in 2024 when Pogacar escaped severe injury while Vingegaard broke several ribs and a collarbone in the Itzulia Basque Country crash.

Still, the +1100 odds attract and we wouldn’t have to bet much to score a decent profit.

Remco Evenepoel Proving He’s the World’s Top Young Cyclist

24 year old Remco Evenepoel is on his way to scoring the white jersey as this year’s top young cyclist at the Tour de France.

Evenepoel isn’t just in third place behind Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard, but he’s just 5 minutes and 6 seconds behind Pogacar and 2 minutes and 2 seconds behind Vingegaard.

Catching Pogacar is impossible unless Tadej falls apart or crashes out of the final stage.

Still Evenepoel is showing that after Pogacar and Vingegaard, he’s the best cyclist on the planet.

A step up in 2025 makes Remco Evenepoel a top contender for the yellow jersey.

Keep the name in the back your mind as we prepare for next year’s cycling season.

Stage 20 and Stage 21 Prediction – Vingegaard Falls Short of Catching Pogacar

At this stage in the Tour de France, for Tadej Pogacar winning the stage isn’t as important as finishing ahead of Jonas Vingegaard.

Pogacar is protecting the 3 minutes and 6 seconds lead.

The prediction is that Pogacar does exactly that to score another Tour de France yellow jersey.

Vingegaard finishes second and Evenepoel finishes third.

Of course, just because we believe Pogacar wins, it doesn’t mean we’re not going to put a few bucks on Vingegaard to pull off the impossible.

+1100 odds are too good to ignore and the crash at the Itzulia Basque Country proves that anything can happen in cycling.

We’re backing Vingegaard to catch Pogacar at +1100 odds with the expectation that we’re going to lose.

Sometimes playing the lottery makes sense.

2022 Tour de France Betting Update: Pogacar Dominates Stage 6

Previous Betting News

After the Tour de France’s first week, a couple of things are apparent. Jonas Vingegaard is Jumbo-Visma’s best shot at winning the yellow jersey, Jumbo cyclist Wout van Aert is a sprinting demon, and Tadej Pogacar is the best cyclist in the world. Check out which cyclists wear the yellow, the green, the white, and the polka dot shirts heading into the weekend into next week’s stages at the 2022 Tour de France. Let’s jump right into action so you can continue making your bets against the Tour de France Odds.

Pogacar Takes Control in Tour de France | Cycling Betting Update

2022 Tour de France

When: July 1 – July 24
Where: Denmark & France
TV/Streaming: NBC Sports / Peacock

Wout van Aert is the green jersey sprinting leader

Jumbo-Visma remains the strongest overall team at the Tour de France. Neither Jonas Vingegaard nor Primoz Roglic should win the yellow jersey, but Wout van Aert can take home the green jersey.

The green jersey goes to the best sprinting cyclist. The 27-year-old Belgian started the Tour finishing second in the first three stages: the time trial and at Roskilde Nyborg and Vejle Sonderborg.

His efforts were good enough to grab both the green jersey and the yellow jersey. Wout no longer has the yellow jersey, but he won Stage 4, the hilly stage at famous Dunkirk Calais, to maintain his green jersey hold.

The sprinting leader has a 61 points lead over the Netherlands Fabio Jakobsen, 198 points to 137. Expect van Aert to continue to excel in the remaining sprints.

There’s a surprise cyclist wearing the polka dot jersey

A surprise cyclist is at the top of the climbers category. Denmark’s Magnus Cort has 11 points and wears the polka dot jersey.

Cort has held the polka dot since Stage 2. He also won the combativity award for his grit in Stage 3 and Stage 5.

The Dane may hold on to the polka dot shirt, but he’s got competition on his heels in both Wout van Aert and France’s Alex Vuillermoz. The battle for the polka dot jersey should be exciting.

Tadej Pogacar grabs the yellow jersey, can anyone catch him?

It didn’t take long for Tadej Pogacar to assert himself. The two-time defending Tour de France Champion won Stage 6, the hilly Binche Longwy, to grab the yellow jersey general classification.

The yellow jersey is the one that all cyclists dream of wearing. Pogacar won it in 2020 and then won it last year.

Pogacar also sports the white jersey. The white jersey goes to the best young rider. Pogacar qualifies because the Slovakian is just 23.

Now that Pogacar is in first place, it will take a gargantuan effort to catch him. American Neilsson Powless is just 4 seconds behind. But Powless, to be fair, should fall well behind Jonas Vingegaard in third.

Vingegaard has a shot, but it’s a puncher’s chance. The Jumbo-Visma cyclist was 31 seconds behind Tadej heading into Friday’s Stage 7.

The problem is that Pogacar has grabbed the lead so early in the event. He’s the top cyclist in the world. Primoz Roglic appeared ready to provide his best, but Jumbo-Visma’s best hope to win the Tour de France before the race started is in twenty-eighth place.

Roglic should make a move because he’s that good. But it probably won’t be enough. Right now, Pogacar looks like a lock to win his third straight Tour de France.
