Counter-Strike: Global Offensive BLAST Premier Nov. 20 Edition

Complexity Vs Sprout – BLAST Premier Fall 2020 Showdown

  • When: Tuesday, Nov. 24 – 13:30 CET

The last time we saw Complexity and Sprout clash on the battlefield was way back in May during the Home Sweet Home Cup 4 when Complexity swept Sprout with 6-12 on Nuke and 16-4 on Inferno. The match was pretty straightforward for Complexity, largely due to Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke’s strong performance.

K0nfig ended the series with 54 frags and 1.66 HLTV rating, which was far above all of his teammates and all of Sprout players who walked away from the game with a negative HLTV rating. Even though that match happened six months ago, it’s fair to expect another one-sided affair on Tuesday, and there are a couple of reasons for that.

We are not a big fan of Sprout largely because of the volatile performances of Denis “denis” Howell and Timo “Spiidi” Richter. If the German duo underperforms, Sprout usually loses, even to some weaker teams. But when they have at least a somewhat decent showing, Sprout can surprise any team, which makes Sprout a very unpredictable squad.

Regardless, even if Spiidi and denis show up for Sprout on Tuesday, it’s hard to be overly optimistic about their chances to win, since they are facing Complexity, who are a well-organized team that very rarely makes mistakes. What’s more, Sprout have recently lost against Wisla Krakow and North and struggled against the likes of Copenhagen Flames and K23, which does not convince us they have it in them to cause an upset. Bet on Complexity to win 2-0!

Prediction: Complexity -1.50 Maps

Spirit Vs Virtus.pro – BLAST Premier Fall 2020 Showdown

  • When: Tuesday, Nov. 24 – 16:30 CET

Spirit last met with Virtus.pro back in June at the WePlay! Clutch Island, when they won the series with 16-13 on Train and 16-14 on Dust2. As the score would suggest, the match was very close, which is usually the case in these CIS derbies – especially since the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive transitioned to online play.

Much of Spirit’s success that day was thanks to Nikolay “mir” Bityukov, who had a phenomenal performance and ended the series with 73 frags and 1.82 HLTV rating. On the side of VP, Dzhami “Jame” Ali was the only player on his team who managed a positive rating (1.10) along with 37 frags.

Not only do Spirit and Virtus.pro historically produce close fixtures, but they both also enter this match in great form, which is why we can confidently predict another close affair is on the cards. Bet on over 2.50 maps!

Prediction: Over 2.50 Maps

FURIA Vs Isurus – BLAST Premier Fall 2020 Showdown

  • When: Tuesday, Nov. 24 – 19:30 CET

FURIA and Isurus have no official head-to-head matches between them, which is nothing unusual considering they have not been playing at the same tier of competition. While FURIA mostly competes against the best North American CS:GO teams (100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid), and in some of the most prestigious tournaments, Isurus spent most of the year playing against local teams such as 9z, Furious, STMN and other low-tier South American squads.

The online play is notorious for upset wins, but we don’t think we will be seeing one here. It’s hard to imagine Isurus overcoming the huge quality gap separating them and FURIA.

To put it into perspective just how far apart these two teams are quality-wise, FURIA are, as of Nov. 16, ranked No. 7 in the world, whereas Isurus sit at No. 82.

It’s worth noting that FURIA did not produce anything remarkable during their stay in Europe, where they struggled to live up to the hype after they won the IEM New York 2020. Still, we have to consider they had to play against some of the best teams in the world – something Isurus aren’t. Even if they don’t bring their A-game, FURIA should win this one with ease. Bet on FURIA to destroy Isurus 2-0!

Prediction: FURIA -1.50 Maps
