Mybookie.ag brings you a free betting preview and prediction for weekend’s matches in the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Mid-Season Showdown. Today, we take a look at two second-round bouts of the LCS playoffs featuring Cloud9, Team Liquid, TSM and 100 Thieves. Let’s get right to it so you can bet against their League of Legends odds.

LoL LCS 2021 Spring Betting Preview for Saturday, April 4th Matches

Cloud9 Vs Team Liquid – Saturday, April 4, 13:00 PST

Cloud9 enter the second round of Mid-Season Showdown off a convincing 3-0 sweep of 100 Thieves, on Sunday, March 21, when they proved once more why they’re one of the best North American LoL teams in the league. Although C9 deserved to walk away with a win that day, we were not too impressed with their overall showing, and particularly not with their drafting.

Even though C9 should never be underestimated – due to the individual quality of their players – their 3-0 sweep of 100T is a bit misleading, since they would have lost at least two maps had they faced even a slightly better team. At times, C9’s drafts were just outright bad and they did not really showcase any spectacular decision-making either but were instead successful because 100T played poorly.

We wouldn’t like to discredit C9 for their win, but it’s worth keeping in mind that they did not play well enough for us to confidently say they can win the title with ease.

Their next opponent, Team Liquid, will be a much tougher cookie than 100T and there is no argument to be made against that. Even though Liquid had their fair share of struggles in the regular season, they’re still C9’s biggest rival and in our book THE strongest team in LCS.

If we compare these two teams lane-by lane, C9 might have a slightly stronger mid laner and a more in-form jungler, but Liquid should have quite a massive advantage in the top lane, and seemed to have a more stable bottom lane duo. This might sound completely biased, but we can’t just ignore that Team Liquid beat C9 twice during the regular season and once in the LCS Lock-In grand finals (3-2).

Most bookmakers have C9 priced as the favorites, which is completely wrong. Team Liquid have showcased much better macro play in their 3-1 win over TSM in the first round of Mid-Season Showdown and are generally a far less volatile team. At even money or better, you can’t pass on Team Liquid.

Prediction: Team Liquid to win

TSM Vs 100 Thieves – Sunday, April 4, 13:00 PST

TSM lost their opening fixture against Team Liquid (1-3), however, that result does not show the real picture of how that match played out. TSM had their chances to win and could have potentially won the series, but got narrowly outmatched by Liquid, which is by no means a reason for concern, considering how solid Liquid are.

TSM did not need long to improve their impression with a 3-1 win against Evil Geniuses. Although they might not have produced the cleanest performance that day, we must give TSM some slack since EG had a full week to prepare on top of having access to the film from TSM’s match against Liquid to analyze and forge a winning strategy.

100 Thieves, meanwhile, lost their opening match against Cloud9 (0-3) and demolished Dignitas (3-0) over the weekend with what was arguably the best performance we have seen from this side since the LCS Lock-In. The question is, however, whether 100T can recreate their performance from the last round and put up a fight against TSM, who have already beaten them twice this season.

Both teams looked solid over the weekend, but if we draw a line, TSM are still an all-around better team. They’ve shown immense improvement throughout the regular season and if their performance against Team Liquid is any indication, this team is capable of competing for the title.

100T, meanwhile, are a very hit-or-miss squad. They’ve done a good job with their drafts across their last two series, but they still need to show a bit more consistency for us to believe they can take down TSM. If everything clicks, 100T might upset TSM, but we wouldn’t count on that.

Prediction: TSM -1.5 maps
