eSports Betting: League of Legends LCS Picks for August 1st

Written by on July 31, 2020

Esports have been around for many years now, but they were really thrust into the spotlight during the worst of the pandemic, at a time when all major sports were in lockdown. It is probably fair to suggest that the Esports fan base has grown over the past few months, with many players deciding to continue wagering on League of Legends and other games, even with the major leagues all now back in action. As always, it a busy weekend in the LOL world, with 4 games on the Saturday schedule in the LCS, the North American region of the League of Legends. The playoffs for the summer season are right around the corner, so it’s all to play for. Let’s take a closer look at the 4 games on tap in the LCS on Saturday, August 1 so you can set down your bets against their League of Legends odds.

League of Legends LCS Picks for August 1st Matches

100 Thieves Vs FlyQuest – 4PM EST

With time quickly running out on the regular season, 100 Thieves need to pull off something dramatic if they are to get into the top 6 and a spot in the playoffs. They currently sit tied for 7th with a 5-9 record, which leaves them 2 wins back of the playoff line. Do not expect them to get any help from FlyQuest this Saturday, though, as they will be looking to win and potentially move up to 3rd in the league. They are currently occupying the #4 spot with an 8-6 record and look like a very good bet to pick up another win here.

Cloud9 Vs Golden Guardians – 5 PM EST

When you have matches that are decided by a best of 1, you have a situation where upsets can and will happen. Heading into this match, you would need to say that Cloud9 look to be a very firm favorite. They are currently sitting on top of the LCS standings with an 11-3 record and have already punched their ticket into the playoffs. The Golden Guardians have some work to do if they want to join them there, as they are sitting just above the line with a 7-7 record. My money is on Cloud9 in this one.

Counter Logic Gaming Vs Team Liquid – 6 PM EST

Every single match is important in a 10-team league, but for Counter Logic Gaming, this one is perhaps more important than most. They are on the outside looking in at the playoffs right now with a 5-7 record, and they know that a loss here will kill off their very slim hopes of making it into the top 6. The bad news for them is that they are going against one of the best teams in the league, as Team Liquid currently share top spot with Cloud9 with an 11-3 record. This should be an easy win for Team Liquid.

Dignitas Vs Immortals – 7 PM EST

No team wants to finish at the bottom of the league at the end of the regular season, but one of these two teams will almost certainly land there. Right now, it is Immortals who are at the bottom of the heap with a 3-11 record. Dignitas are just ahead of them, but only by the slimmest of margins at 4-10. Nothing at stake but pride in this one, and I am taking Dignitas to win. .
