Counter-Strike – ESL Pro League Season 9

Thursday, April 18

  • FaZe vs NIP

FaZe Clan had a great Miami Blast Pro Series. They only lost a single match, 0:1 to Liquid, before drawing with MIBR and then beating Cloud9, NaVi, and Astralis. They beat Liquid 2:0 in the playoffs.

Ninjas in Pyjamas, NIP, played great in the StarLadder i-League Season 7 in China. The Ninjas lost 3 matches, but they made it to the playoffs after beating North, Vici Gaming, and Team Spirit. The 0-2 loss to Renegade in the playoffs is how they bowed out of the StarLadder. They should be ready for FaZe on Thursday, though. Ninjas in Pyjamas is worth backing.

eSports Betting Pick: NIP

  • Heroic vs devils.one

Heroic’s in excellent form, going 8-2-1 in their last 11. The lone loss was 0-2 to ENCE in the Dreamhack Sweden Playoffs while the draw occurred against pro100 and Kinguin.

devils.one is a new eSports outfit. They’ve got Fortnite, Counter-Strike, and League of Legends squads. It’s difficult to know how well they’ll do with their Counter-Strike squad. Heroic has the history. They’re the team to back because we just don’t know how devils.one responds in its first competition.

eSports Betting Pick: Heroic

Friday, April 19

  • Navi vs Windigo

Like so many teams heading into the ESL Pro League Season 9 this week, Windigo has been on fire. Going back to Feb. 15, they’re 12-2-1 with the draws happening against Expert Esport and Fnatic and the loss occurring against Valiance.

Natus Vincere, Navi, hasn’t been as impressive, but they’ve battled the higher-quality opponents, falling to Astralis, Liquid, and FaZe while beating MIBR, Cloud9, ENCE, and Renegades. Navi appears ready to get back to their winning ways. They’re the better team in this matchup even though Windigo’s recent form says they’ve got a shot.

eSports Betting Pick: Navi

  • Fnatic vs G2

Fnatic had a great StarLadder i-League Season 7. They battled their way to the playoffs after beating NIP, NRG, and Vitality. Then in the playoffs, they took down North and NRG. Navi proved to be much more difficult to handle than North and NRG, though. Natus Vincere beat Fnatic 3:0.

But, G2 doesn’t appear to be in good enough form to challenge Fnatic on Friday. They’ve lost to Windigo, Epsilon, and Vitality in 3 of their last 5 matches. Fnatic should handle G2 on April 19.

eSports Betting Pick: Fnatic
