League of Legends (Lol) Week Matches for LCS and LCS Academy – April 6th 2020 Edition

League of Legends LCS Academy (North America)

Evil Geniuses Academy Vs Dignitas Academy (Thursday)

While some of the League of Legends leagues play just 1 game in a matchup, the LCS Academy sometimes plays singles as well as the best of 5. Right now, it is Cloud9 who are leading the way at the top, but Evil Geniuses are sitting in third with an 11-7 record. They are coming off a good weekend, winning 3-0 against Team Liquid Academy over the weekend, so certainly on form. Dignitas are 2ndh in a league of 10 and are sitting at 12-6 on the season. I’m going with the Evil Geniuses here.

TSM Academy Vs Cloud9 Academy

TSM start out this week sitting down in 4th in the league with a record of 10-8. Their previous game came last Thursday, a 3-0 win over the 100 Thieves Academy. This is a tough outing for them, though, as they are going up against a Cloud9 team that is opening up a lead at the top of the league. Cloud9 has won each of their last 5 games, all of which were single game matchups. This one is the best of 5, so I think they will be too good for TSM over the course of 5 games.

League of Legends LCS (North America)

FlyQuest (-232) Vs Golden Guardians (+156) (Tuesday)

The spring session of the LCS is now in the playoff phase, with Round 1 already in the books. The winners in the opening round are already in the quarterfinals, while the losers get another shot in Round 2. FlyQuest lost 3-1 in their best of 5 series against the Evil Geniuses and will now square off against the Golden Guardians in Round 2. The Golden Guardians finished the regular season in 6th with an 8-10 record, while FlyQuest landed in 4th at 10-8. This could be a good battle, but I am on FlyQuest to win.

100 Thieves Vs TSM

The other losing team in Round 1 was 100 Thieves, who were blanked 3-0 by Cloud9 in a not unexpected result given that Cloud 9 were an impressive 17-1 on the season. 100 Thieves finished the season at 10-8, while their opponents in Round 2, TSM, closed out the regular season with a .500 record of 9-9. In the history of this league, TSM is actually 3-2 overall against 100 Thieves, which is why I am leaning in their direction for this one.
