As we head past the midway point of April, the spring leagues in the world of League of Legends eSports are beginning to wind down. Some of the regional leagues will start their playoffs this weekend, while other will play their final couple of games before moving into the money rounds. The LPL, which is the main league in China, is seeing their regular season begin to win down, with some teams having already played their full 16-game schedule. The top 8 teams will qualify for the playoffs and there are still some things to be decided before we find out who plays who. For the purposes of this piece, we are going to jump ahead a little and take a look at the 3 games on the LPL schedule for Sunday, April 19, so let’s get right to the action and find out who has the best League of Legends odds.
eSports Betting: League of Legends LPL April 19th Matches
JD Gaming (-555) Vs LGD Gaming (+316) – 3 AM EST
The very worst that JD Gaming are going to do is finish 3rd in the LPL, but if they can come away with the win in this one, they could climb to #2, although they would need FunPlus Phoenix’s League of Legends team to lose in order for that to happen. All that JD can do is take care of their own business, which they have been doing well, coming into this one on a 6-game winning streak. They are the hottest team in the league right now and will look to finish with another win before the playoff begins. For LGD Gaming, the season is ending with a bit of a whimper, as they have now lost back to back games and are sitting near the bottom of the league with a 5-9 record. It’s tough to imagine them winning here, especially given the tun that JD Gaming is on right now.
Team WE Vs Edward Gaming – 6 AM EST
The eighth and final playoff spot in the LPL is still up for grabs as we head into the final weekend of the regular season. Team WE are still in the picture, but they need to win and get a little help if they are to force their way in. They might have already clinched a playoff spot had it not been for a very poor run of form coming down the stretch, as Team WE come into this one on a 3-game losing skid that is going to be tough to pull out of. Making things even tougher is that their final game is against Edward’s Gaming League of Legends team, a roster that has already punched their playoff ticket with a 9-6 record. They are the #6 seed right now, but they could potentially move up with the win, which I think they get here.
LNG Esports Vs Invictus Gaming – 8 AM EST
What we are looking at with the final game on the Sunday schedule is a total mismatch that will probably be over before it even really has the chance to begin. LNG Sports have had a bit of a nightmare year and currently find themselves sitting second bottom in the LPL. They are coming into this one on the heels of a win, but all that did was move them to a rather poor 5-10 record on the season. They look to be in way over their heads here against an Invictus Gaming team sitting at 13-2, which is enough to have clinched them the #1 seed heading into the playoffs. An easy win for IG’s League of Legends team in this one.
