eSports Betting: League of Legends LPL Summer Split July 1st Matches

Written by on June 30, 2020

The Summer Season is now upon us in the League of Legends world, with matches being played all across the world as we speak. Every tournament is big in its own right, but this one has an added sense of importance, as the winners of all the regions will take part in the 2020 World Championship. That event features 24 teams from all across the globe looking for a share of the over $2 million in prize money available, so it’s no real surprise that there is a little bit of added pressure to deal with in the Summer Season. Let’s jump right into action and have a look at the upcoming matches so you can set down your bets against their League of Legends odds.

League of Legends LPL July 1st Matches

For the purposes of this piece, we are going to focus on the LPL, which is the Chinese version of the League of Legends. Each team is now 5 or 6 games into the season and some clear favorites are beginning to emerge. They all play 16 games in the regular season, so now is not the time to be getting too carried away with a good start. There are a pair of games on the schedule for Wednesday, July 1, so let’s take a closer look at those.

Invictus Gaming (-1999) Vs Dominus Esports (+622) – 5 AM EST

You do not need to be a math whiz to take a look at the odds here and see that Invictus Gaming are in as the overwhelming favorites for this one. Invictus have seen their season get off to a winning start, going 4-2 through their opening 6 matches, which is good enough for 6th given their 9-6 record on overall games played. It might be considered a slow start for a team that went 14-2 last season before losing in the 3rd place game. Still, they look like a team destined to be in the playoffs.

The same thing cannot be said for Dominus, who are coming into Summer after a very poor 6-10 showing in the Spring Season, which did not get then anywhere near the playoffs. Things look even more grim this season, as they are just 1-6 to start proceedings, while going 3-12 in total games played. It’s tough to imagine them turning this thing around anytime soon.

There is not a ton of value to be found here, but Invictus look set to come up with a rather straightforward 2-0 win on Wednesday.

Suning (+154) Vs LGD Gaming (-227) – 7 AM EST

This is a very big match for both teams, as they are both currently in playoff spots and looking to stay there. Suning have had a bit of an up and down start to the Summer Season, going 4-3, which is good enough to have them sitting tied for 7th and the final playoff spot. Their 9-8 record in games played has them sitting just above the playoff line, but it’s better for them to be there than below it, which was where they finished in Spring.

There is still obviously a long way to go in the regular season, but as it stands now, LGD Gaming have made a massive turnaround from last season. They finished well out of the playoffs with a 5-11 record in the Spring Season, but they are 4-1, as well as 8-5 in overall games played, which has them in 4th and in with a shot at moving up with a win here.

It has been a fantastic start for LGD, so lets look for them to keep it rolling with another win on Wednesday.
