With the 2020 Overwatch Contenders EU campaign rolling into its semifinals and four teams in an all-out brawl for it all, it’s time to find out which teams are in action and which teams stand the best chances of reaching the quickly-approaching finals. Overwatch Contenders EU May 22nd Matches
British Hurricane vs. Disaster
British Hurricane has won all three championships in Overwatch Contenders EU as they look to nail down a spot in the Week 4 finals. After getting a bye in the Round of 12, British Hurricane dominated Samsung Morning Stars en route to a commanding 3:0 win in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Disaster didn’t finish in the money in weeks 1 and 2, but they’re playing their best Overwatch at just the right time after finishing third in Week 3. Disaster reached the semis by recording a 3:1 win in the quarterfinals over Shu’s Money Crew after getting a bye in the Round of 12.
Prediction
Look, there’s no guesswork needed for this semifinal showdown even though I’m impressed with how Disaster has responded after their slow start. The fact of the matter is that British Hurricane has been the best team in the Overwatch Contenders EU since the very start. I’m expecting the three-week champs to win this pairing to reach the Week 4 finals!

Young and Beautiful vs. Raspberry Racers
Young and Beautiful reached the finals in Week 2 before falling against British Hurricane while also finishing fourth in Week 3. After getting a bye in the Round of 12, Young and Beautiful recorded a fantastic 3:0 shutout win against Ex Oblivione in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Raspberry Racers have yet to finish inside the top 4 in any of the three weeks that have been completed so far, but they’ve been playing some solid Overwatch as they ride an impressive two-match winning streak into the semifinals. Raspberry racers took out ROAR Sports 3:1 in the Round of 12 before recording an identical 3:1 win over Sheer Cold in the quarterfinals.
Prediction
Like the previous semifinal matchup, I’m not expecting this one to be very competitive as Young and Restless is clearly the better and more cohesive team in this affair. Raspberry Racers has now shown a ton of consistency through nearly four weeks and although they’ve been playing well recently, I’m expecting that success to be quite short-lived. Keep it simple and back the favored Young and Restless in this one!
