With four teams set to ‘brawl for it all’ in the 2020 Overwatch Contenders SA Season 1 semifinals on Wednesday, May 20, it’s time to take a look at which championship hopefuls are looking good against their Overwatch odds and which teams look like they could potentially struggle to advance to the finals. With both best-of-vie pairings set to get underway in just over 24 hours, let’s get started.
Overwatch Contenders SA May 20th Matches
And They Say vs. War Pigs
And They Say is looking great after winning the minor open and Week 1 qualifier before going on to take Week 1 and Week 3. Now in first place of the overall standings with a league-high 270 points, And They Say looks like they’re going to be tough for anyone to beat. War Pigs is sitting in a tie for third place with 140 points after tying for third place in weeks 1 and 2 before finishing Week 3 tied for second place. The good news for War Pigs is that they recorded a pair of 3:0 shutout wins in their last two matches.
Prediction
While And They Say is the clear-cut favorite in this pairing, I’m not expecting War Pigs to simply roll over, particularly seeing they way they’ve played recently. Still, And They Say has been the best team in the Overwatch SA Contenders Season 1 and I expect them to get the big win to advance to the finals – again!
Pick: And they Say

Dignity vs. Patitos
Dignity is sitting in second place in the standings with 235 points. They finished second in weeks 1 and 3 while taking the Week 2 title. Patitos is in third place in the standings with 140 points. Ironically, Patitos faced off against Dignity in the Week 2 finals, but they got completely humbled in a 3:0 shutout loss against…you guessed it – Dignity. In Week 3 Patitos reached the semifinals before falling to eventual champion And They Say, 3:0.
Prediction
While the first matchup of the day on Wednesday looks like a knock-down, drag-out thriller just waiting to happen, this pairing looks like a complete lock pick for Dignity, particularly seeing as how they laid an emphatic smackdown on Patitos in the Week 2 championship and have won three of their last four matches by the identical score of 3:0. Simply put, let it ride like never before as Dignity cruises to the resounding win!
Pick: Dignity
