The sixth week of the Turkish Championship League (TCL) 2020 Summer is slated to kick off this Saturday, July 11, with five exciting fixtures, headlined by the clash between two of the strongest teams in the league İstanbul Wildcats and Papara SuperMassive. Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming matches so you can make your bets against their League of Legends odds.
Turkish Championship League (TCL) 2020 Summer Split – June 11 matches
Royal Youth vs 5 Ronin – Saturday, July 11 – 14:00 TRT
It’s a difficult time to be a Royal Youth fan, seeing how this squad has managed only one win out of 10 games played so far this split. To make matters worse, their only win came at the start of June, during the opening week of the Summer Split.
Even though Royal Youth’s single win came against 5 Ronin, their form as of late was nothing short of disastrous. Royal Youth have by far the worst stats in the league, which includes a shocking -4255 gold deficit @15 minutes and to top it all off a 0.4 KDA ratio.
All things considered, Royal Youth are in a bad spot and even though 5 Ronin are not anywhere near the top of the league standings, they have at least shown far more consistency this split. Bet on 5 Ronin to win this one with ease.
- Prediction: 5 Ronin -6.5 kills
Istanbul Wildcats vs Papara SuperMassive – Saturday, July 11 – 15:00 TRT
A rematch between two of the strongest teams in the league will see Papara SuperMassive look to claim a revenge win against İstanbul Wildcats, who bested them way back at the start of June.
Putting these two teams side by side, İstanbul Wildcats might have a better record (8-2) compared to Papara SuperMassive (7-3), but seeing how there is only on W separating them, it’s fair to say the margin is rather negligible. What’s more, Papara SuperMassive are on a six-game winning streak and have only really underperformed back during Week 1 and 2, when they were going through a slump of sorts.
As for İstanbul Wildcats, they have dropped only two games back in mid-June and have since picked up five wins, so form-wise, these two sides seem equally matched.
Seeing Papara SuperMassive priced as favourites is understandable, but this match has the potential to be a very close one. Both teams have solid objective control and tend to be very aggressive, which is perfect for the current meta and usually produces back-and-forth matches.
From a betting perspective, it makes much more sense to side with the underdogs, as they have not only defeated Papara SuperMassive before but are also more than capable of claiming a W this weekend.
- Prediction: İstanbul Wildcats to win
Dark Passage vs Beşiktaş Esports – Saturday, July 11 – 16:00 TRT
This fixture seems like a complete toss-up, however, we can’t ignore the fact that Beşiktaş Esports are on a four-game losing streak. They might deserve some slack for their poor run since they had to face İstanbul Wildcats, Papara SuperMassive and Galakticos, but losing to 5 Ronin is just not acceptable, especially if Beşiktaş Esports are serious about winning the league.
Dark Passage, however, are not in a significantly better position, since they dropped a game against 1907 Fenerbahçe last week on top of losing to Beşiktaş Esports once before this split.
Comparing these two sides, Beşiktaş Esports have shown they are significantly better when it comes to farming and tend to have much better vision control, which are both crucial in the mid-late game, whereas Dark Passage tend to be far more aggressive and have slightly better objective control.
Quality-wise, we say Beşiktaş Esports are better, but it’s hard to be optimistic about a team that struggles in the early game (-824 gold differential @15 min) when they face a strong early-game team such as Dark Passage. At the end of the day, a strong draft will be crucial for Beşiktaş Esports and if they manage to find the right composition to survive and match the early-game aggression, we could be in for a bit longer and bloody match.
- Prediction: Over 24.5 kills
Team AURORA vs 1907 Fenerbahçe – Saturday, July 11 – 17:00 TRT
Even though AURORA have shown some level of quality throughout this split, we find it hard to believe they will manage to overcome 1907 Fenerbahçe, who cannot afford to lose this game, otherwise, they just might miss out on punching their ticket for the playoffs.
AURORA have won only two games this split and even those came against Royal Youth and 5 Ronin, who are not exactly strong teams. Additionally, Team AURORA already faced 1907 Fenerbahçe during TCL Week 1 and lost convincingly (5-15 and -10.8k gold deficit), so it’s difficult to expect they can turn things around here.
The biggest issue AURORA is dealing with is that they tend to give up way too many deaths (18.1 average deaths per game) in their games, which makes siding with 1907 Fenerbahçe on a -7.5 kill handicap a great option.
- Prediction: 1907 Fenerbahçe -7.5 kills
Galakticos vs Galatasaray Esports – Saturday, July 11 – 18:00 TRT
Galakticos look set to compete for a top-three finish in the regular season, whereas we can’t say the same for Galatasaray Esports, who have won only three games out of 10 played this split.
Some of Galatasaray Esports’ struggles may have something to do with the fact that they were not allowed to compete in the TCL Winter due to not paying their players, which effectively meant this roster entered the Summer Split ring rusty. But this team’s issues go much deeper.
Overall, there is not a lot going for Galatasaray Esports. They’re not one of the worst teams in the league, but neither are they a team we could imagine seeing in the playoffs. Early-game is still an issue for Galatasaray Esports, while their passive playstyle just won’t do them any good in the current meta.
Galakticos have better players, are far more efficient in farming, are miles better in objective control and are overall a better team. Seeing Galatasaray Esports win here would be one of the biggest upsets of the split and considering how solid Galakticos have looked lately, we won’t count on any miracles to happen.
- Prediction: Galakticos -6.5 kills
