Lithuania surprised many people by taking down the United States 110-104 in the final game of Group play to win the Group J record with a 5-0 record.
Vaidas Kariniauskas starred against the United States, scoring 15 points in the win. Serbia ended up finishing in second place in Group I because it took a surprising 78-76 loss to Italy.
Serbia is a dangerous outside shooting team. Serbia has shot a tournament-high 38.5 percent from the 3-point line. Both teams had a point differential of over 100 points during group play.

What the Americans will need to advance to the semifinals is a better all-around performance. Anthony Edwards led Team USA’s offense with 35 points, and the Americans shot 53.4 percent from the field.
What killed Team USA was allowing Lithuania to shoot 56 percent from the 3-point line. Italy closed out group play with an ugly 73-57 win over Puerto Rico.
The Italian only shot 26.5 percent from the 3-point line and got to the free-throw line eight teams. Italy will need to be more dynamic on offense to spring an upset on the United States.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Dillon Brooks, and RJ Barrett also scored in double figures against Spain last time out. Doncic will need to find a way to get more help from the other players on the rest. Doncic turned in 23 points, six rebounds, and six assists in a loss to Germany.
Only one other player — Kleme Preplic — scored more than 10 points. Slovenia only made 21.9 percent of its 3-point shots against Germany.
