Don’t let the name fool you, UFC Vegas 30 is an early start this Saturday, with the fighters set to step into the octagon starting at 1 PM EST. It’s a solid main card for this one, with 6 big fights on tap. We have you covered here, though, so let’s get to the action by taking a look at each of the main card bouts and making some predictions.
MMA Betting Preview for UFC Fight Night: Gane Vs Volkov
Renato Moicano (-245) Vs Jai Herbert (+205)
We get the night rolling with a Lightweight bout and a fighter that is in desperate need of a win. Moicano has seen his career take a bit of a setback of late, as he has now lost 3 of his last 4 fights to fall to 14-4-1 overall. Herbert is coming off a loss in his last fight, a defeat that broke an impressive 6-win streak. A good way to start the night, and I have Moicano by submission.
Nicolas Dalby Vs Tim Means
We had a late change for this Welterweight bout, with Tim Means stepping in on Wednesday to fill the spot vacated by Sergey Khandozhko. Dalby is unbeaten un his last 7 fights, although he did have a couple of No Contest bouts in that mix. Means comes into this fight with a 31-12-1 record, as well as wins in each of his last 2 fights. The short notice may hurt him, which is why I am on Dalby.
Andre Fili (-225) Vs Daniel Pineda (+185)
It’s a Featherweight bout up next, with a pair of fighters looking to bounce back from a loss going head-to-head. Fili is perhaps the fighter more in need of a win here after dropping 2 of his last 3 bouts to take his record to 21-8. It has been an interesting run for Pineda, who went 7 fights unbeaten, including a pair of No Contests before losing last time out. Slight edge to Fili in this one.
Raoni Barcelos (-220) Vs Timur Valiev (+180)
This Bantamweight bout has the makings of one of the best fights of the night, as both of these men are in great form. You need to go back to 2014 to find the last time Barcelos lost a fight. Since then, he has reeled off 9 straight wins. Do not count out Valiev, though, as he has just 2 losses in his pro career and comes into this one having won 7 in a row. I think it is Barcelos who gets it by decision.
Ovince St. Preux (-115) Vs Tanner Boser (-115)
Up next is the co-main event of the night, a heavyweight bout between a couple of heavy hitters who have been up and down of late. St. Preux has been really inconsistent of late, winning just 2 of his last 5 fights. It is the same story for Boser, who has the same record over his last 5, including losses in each of his last 2. I am on Boser to snap out of it with the KO win.
Ciryl Gane (-150) Vs Alexander Volkov (+120)
The Heavyweights close out the night with the headline event, with one of these men looking to maintain a perfect record. That would be Gane, who comes into this bout at 8-0 and with his eye on a potential title fight in the future. Getting past Volkov will be no easy feat, though, as this is a fighter, who, at 33-8, has seen just about everything. I’m going with Gane by decision.
