Formula E London E-Prix Betting Analysis: Top Drivers for the Weekend

Formula E London E-Prix Betting Analysis: Top Drivers for the Weekend

If you follow Formula-E, then this is the weekend you have been waiting for. It is the final week of the season, with the championship hanging in the balance and a doubleheader in London set to decide who walks away as the World Champion. There is a clear favorite at the moment, but with a pair of races to come, there are no guarantees that the final standings will look the same way as they do now when all is said and done. Can Jake Dennis hold off the chasing pack to win his first Formula-E championship, or will the pressure get to him, allowing one of the chasing pack to run him down and pip him to the post? All will be revealed soon enough, but for now, let’s look at the top drivers heading into the final race weekend to consider in your Formula E betting odds.

Jake Dennis

The British native will have the opportunity to lock up the World Championship on home soil, which would have to make things that much sweeter. As it stands at the moment Dennis has a 24-point lead at the top, and while that is a decent lead, it does not mean that he is safe and out of the woods just yet. He did, though, help his chances by picking up his second win of the season in Rome last time out, and you have to say that his chances look good here. Over the last couple of seasons, there have been 4 races in London, with Dennis winning 2 of them. The odds look to be in his favor.

Nick Cassidy

Heading into the Rome E-Prix, Cassidy must have been feeling good about his chances of winning the World Championship, but a 14th place finish and 0 points later, he is now up against it heading into the final doubleheader of the season. Cassidy looked to be cruising home, winning 3of the last 6 races and getting hot at just the right time, but that Rome race may prove to be his undoing. He did have a podium finish in one of the London races in 2022, but he will need better than that, and maybe some help, to get back on top of the standings.

Mitch Evans

If we are being honest, it looks like a 2-horse race for the championship heading into the final weekend. Mathematically speaking, Dennis is still in the picture, but with 44 points separating him from the top spot, it would take a minor miracle for him to somehow make it all the way to the top of the driver standings. Not helping the cause is the fact that he has never won in London, so it does look as though Evans will need to settle for one of the lesser standings this season, as he has done over the past few years. Always close, but no cigar.

Pascal Wehrlein

No matter what happens this weekend, this will still end up being a career year for Wehrlein in Formula-E. he is currently sitting in 4th, and while he cannot make it all the way to the top, this will still be his best overall finish in his 5th season at this level. He has won 3 races this season, but the second half of the year saw him all too often finish outside the top 5, which means leaving valuable points on the track. He has not been great in London, but perhaps a podium finish might be possible in one of the races.
