Games to Bet Big in NCAAF Week 6
Now, let’s take a look at a few games that you suggest betting on this coming weekend.

21 Missouri Tigers vs. 23 LSU Tigers | BET BIG

NCAAF Odds: LSU -6.5/ Missouri +182; LSU -227 / O/U 52.5
Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 12:00 PM | ESPN
Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field, Columbia, MO

A battle of the Tigers. The Missouri Tigers are still unbeaten on the season. The LSU Tigers now have two losses, and it seems the folks in Baton Rouge are watching Brian Kelly’s 2023 season slip away from them.

Look for Missouri to play with a ton of motivation in this game to stay unbeaten. Missouri is gearing up for a tough stretch of games. Look for them to grab a big moneyline win in this game on Saturday!

14 North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Syracuse Orange | BET BIG

NCAAF Odds: North Carolina -9 / North Carolina +182; Syracuse -227 / O/U 52.5
Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 3:30 PM | ESPN
Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill, NC

Mac Brown and his Tar Heels are a much better team than Syracuse. The Tar Heels have moved to 14th in the most recent rankings and appear a threat in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Syracuse has just one loss but struggled to move the ball against Clemson.

This game is in Chapel Hill, where the Tar Heels like to play. North Carolina will not get caught looking ahead to Miami coming to town next week. Tar Heels win by double digits.

Florida State Seminoles over Virginia Tech Hokies | BET BIG

NCAAF Odds: Florida State -24 / Florida State +182; Virginia Tech -227 / O/U 52.5
Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 3:30 PM | ABC
Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee, FL

Another Atlantic Coast Conference game. The top teams in the conference are much better than the rest of the league. The Seminoles are one of, if not THE top team in the conference.

Look for Jordan Travis to have himself a game, as Florida State puts a ton of points on the board. Virginia Tech cannot play an up-and-down style, which will wear down on them. The Seminoles win by four touchdowns in this game on Saturday.

Games to Avoid in NCAAF Week 6
Now, let’s take a look at a few games that you suggest avoiding on when betting this coming weekend.

12 Oklahoma Sooners vs. 3 Texas Longhorns | AVOID

NCAAF Odds: Texas -5.5 / Oklahoma +182; Texas -227 / O/U 52.5
Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 12:00 PM | ABC
Cotton Bowl, Dallas, TX

The final Red River Rivalry as members of the Big 12. Next time, they will be in the SEC. The Oklahoma Sooners are a little overlooked. Texas is getting all the love, and they should be, with wins over Alabama and Kansas. The Longhorns can run the football, and Ewers continues to have a great season.

But what do we know about Oklahoma? They can score and score at will. Do not count them out. This is a spread to stay away from and watch and be entertained.

13 Washington State Cougars +4 at UCLA Bruins | AVOID

NCAAF Odds: Washington State -5.5 / Washington State +182; UCLA -227 / O/U 52.5
Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 3:00 PM | PAC12
Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA

What will happen in the Pac-12? The UCLA Bruins are talented, but their struggles to score are concerning.

Washington State would love to stay unbeaten, but going to Los Angeles to win does not seem like that can happen. The 4-point spread is tricky. This is another game that would be better off watching and enjoying than betting.

20 Kentucky Wildcats at 1 Georgia Bulldogs | AVOID

NCAAF Odds: Georgia -5.5 / Kentucky +182; Georgia -227 / O/U 52.5
Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 7:00 PM | ESPN
Sanford Stadium, Athens, GA

It’s a big SEC game. The Kentucky Wildcats are unbeaten on the season. The Wildcats are coming off a beatdown over Florida. Kentucky is running the ball like crazy. You have to think they will compete against the top team in the country.

Especially a Georgia team that struggled last week and is still working on finding consistency from their quarterback. The problem is that this is the season we start seeing the Kirby Smart effect on his team. This is a dangerous game to bet!

Top Five College Football Week 6 Games to Bet On 2022

The Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma highlights the top five for this week. The Sooners are reeling after two straight losses. A victory over the Longhorns would right the ship. Also in the top 25 are a couple of huge SEC clashes and a Pac-12 battle. See below for NCAAF Week 6’s must bet games.

Top 5 Games to Bet this Weekend | NCAAF Week 6 Lines

2022 NCAA Football Week 6

  • When: Thursday, Oct. 5 – Saturday, Oct. 8

8-Tennessee Volunteers -3 at 25-LSU Tigers | Saturday, Oct. 8

LSU is someplace they haven’t been in a while, ranked in the top 25. Granted, the Tigers are ranked 25th. So they’re on the custp of being unranked. Still, any ranking, even the cusp of the top 25, is better than last season.

Tennessee has climbed into the top 10. When was the last time we could say that? The Vols head to Baton Rouge after a bye. In their previous game, Tennessee beat rival Florida 38-33. The Volunteers are for real. Vols cover.

NCAAF Week 5 Pick: Tennessee -3

Texas Longhorns -7 vs. Oklahoma Sooners | Saturday, Oct. 8

Texas versus Oklahoma is often one of the top games of the season much less the week. But in this year’s Red River Rivalry, neither team is ranked.

The Horns have gone 4-1 against the spread this season. Oklahoma is 1-3 ATS in their last 4.

Oklahoma has lost 2 straight. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel may not play in this. But even if Gabriel sits, the Sooners should bounce back with a decent performance. Backing Texas at -7 is asking too much.

NCAAF Week 5 Pick: Oklahoma +7

Texas Tech Red Raiders at  7-Oklahoma State Cowboys -9.5 | Saturday, Oct. 8

Texas Tech upset the Longhorns a couple of games back but on Saturday, Tech faces off against the Big 12’s best program.

Oklahoma State is 4-0 straight up and 3-1 against the spread. The Cowboys marched into Waco last Saturday and blasted Baylor 36-25. The Red Raiders are going to have a tough time keeping the Pokes from scoring 50.

NCAAF Week 5 Pick: Oklahoma State -9.5

11-Utah Utes -4.5 at 18-UCLA Bruins | Saturday, Oct. 8

Undefeated UCLA hosts Utah after playing their best game of the season. The Bruins upset Washington 40-32.

Since an opening game loss to Florida in The Swamp, Utah has reeled off 4 straight wins and covers.

The Utes are rolling. Not only that, but Utes QB Cam Rising had his best game of the season in Utah’s 42-16 win against Oregon State.

In their last, the Bruins gave up 32 points to Washington Also, UCLA played so well and so hard to beat Washington, there’s a chance the Bruins bounce. Utah wins and covers.

NCAAF Week 5 Pick: Utah -4.5

Texas A&M Aggies at 1-Alabama Crimson Tide -24 | Saturday, Oct. 8

Texas A&M will be a good football team. Jimbo Fisher landed the season’s top recruiting class. So the future is bright, but this season, the Aggies have no chance of keeping it close versus the Tide.

The problem for Texas A&M is their vaunted defense is too young and inexperienced. Each player on the D believe he’s the man and, who knows? Maybe, each player is, but you must learn how to play college football.

At this level, you can’t always rely on your physical talents. Even if Bryce Young doesn’t play for Alabama, the Tide roll to a win and cover. Nick Saban wants this one bad. So the Bama HC won’t call off the dogs until the Crimson Tide break the Aggies into pieces.

NCAAF Week 5 Pick: Alabama -24

2019 College Football Week 6 Must-Bet Games

Will the championship-hopeful Michigan Wolverines avoid the big upset at home against the stingy Iowa Hawkeyes when the two rivals square off in their Week 6 Big Ten battle? Staying in the Big Ten, Ohio State will look to take care of business at home against visiting Michigan State. Pac-12 resident Stanford hosts Washington in another intriguing Week 6 conference clash. If you’re fired up about the quickly approaching 2019 season, then let’s take a look at the College Football Week 6 betting matchups you must bet on.

2019 College Football Week 6 Must-Bet Games

Iowa at Michigan

  • When: Saturday, October 5, 2019
  • Where: Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, MI

Believe it or now, Iowa has won two straight in this series, by claiming home wins in 2013 and 2016. The Hawkeyes went 9-4 a year ago while averaging a respectable 31.2 points per game in 2018 (44th), but they were phenomenal defensively in limiting the opposition to just 17.8 points per contest to finish 11th nationally in points allowed.

Michigan went 10-3 on the year, but the Wolverines failed to live up to their College Football Playoff expectations again under head coach Jim Harbaugh despite ranking an encouraging 21st in scoring (35.2 ppg) and outstanding 16th in points allowed (19.4 ppg). With Iowa winning five of six in this series, an upset road win definitely looks like a possibility in this one.

Michigan State at Ohio State

  • When: Saturday, October 5, 2019
  • Where: Ohio Stadium, Columbus, OH

Michigan State went an uninspiring 7-6 last season while finishing a pitiful 126th in scoring (18.7 ppg), but an outstanding eighth in points allowed (17.2 ppg). The Spartans  have some experience back under center in senior Brian Lewerke, but the Big ten title hopefuls really need to address a rushing attack that finished a discouraging 115t nationally against the run.

Ohio State went a fantastic 13-1 last season and 9-1 in the Big Ten East division while ranking a stellar eighth in scoring (42.4 ppg) and a respectable 52nd in points allowed (25.5 ppg). The Buckeyes are getting set for their first full season under new head coach Ryan Day and without star defensive end Nick Bosa and gifted quarterback Dwayne Haskins who are both now playing their respective trades in the NFL. Can Michigan State avoid their third straight loss in this huge rivalry? I think not, even in Year 1 of the Ryan Day era.

Washington at Stanford

  • When: Saturday, October 5, 2019
  • Where: Stanford Stadium, Stanford, CA

Washington lost two of their biggest stars in program history following last season in quarterback Jake Browning and running back Myles Gaskin. Still, the Huskies are coming off a fine, 10-4 campaign in 2018 while fielding one of the best defensive units in all of college football. Stanford went a solid 9-4 a year ago while ranking 38th in points allowed and 73rd in scoring (28.4 ppg).  The Cardinal are in good shape at quarterback with junior K.J. Costello, but they’ve dropped two of their last three games against Washington, including last season’s narrow 27-23 road loss. This week 6 pairing looks like an affair that could very well come down to which team has the ball last.

NCAA Football Week 6 Must Bet Games – 2018 Season

NCAA Football Week 6 Must Bet Games – 2018 Season

Saturday, October 6

LSU at Florida

The LSU Tigers went 9-4 a year ago and suffered a couple of head-scratching losses to Troy and Notre Dame in the Citrus Bowl while coming up short of reaching the double-digit win mark they had hoped for under head coach Ed Orgeron. Making matters worse is the fact that LSU will have a first-time starter under center following the graduation of two-year starter Danny Etling. Not only that, but the Tigers also will be breaking in a new tailback following the departure of All-SEC back Derrius Guice to the NFL. Florida went an awful 4-7 last year in a tumultuous campaign that saw them part ways with former head coach Jim McElwain amidst all sorts of controversy. No matter, the Gators are expecting big things moving forward under the widely respected talents of former Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen. Mullen will need to identify who his own starting quarterback will be in 2018 whether that’s former part-time starter Feleipe Franks or redshirt sophomore Kyle Trask. The good news is that the Gators have a trio or talented running backs in juniors Jordan Scarlett and Lamical Perine and sophomore Adarius Lemons. LSU beat Florida 17-16 in Florida a year ago as a 1.5-point road dog, but I’m thinking the Gators are going to be far more explosive under Mullen moving forward and that they’ll get their payback in this one. NCAA Football Week 6 Betting Pick: Florida 28 LSU 24

Florida State at Miami

Florida State will be looking to rebound in 2018 after their disappointing 7-6 season a year ago, but they’ll be heading in a new direction under first-year head coach Willie Ttaggart after former head coach Jimbo Fisher bolted for the job at Texas A&M. The good news for the Seminoles is that they’ll have gifted quarterback Deondre Francois back on the field after he missed almost the entire season after suffering a knee injury in their 2017 opener. Taggart also has the luxury of handing the ball to Cam Akers, who broke FSU’s freshman rushing record with 1,024 yards in 2017. Miami went 10-3 a year ago and won the ACC Coastal division crown while competing for a berth in the four-team CFP late in the season before suffering a trio of costly losses. The good news is that the U is back in good position to contend again with a ton of talent on both sides of the ball. Are the Miami Hurricanes a safe bet to win in NCAA Football Week 6? Head coach Mark Richt must now decide if 2017 starting quarterback Malik Rosier is going to start again in 2018 seeing as how he’s not the most accurate quarterback in the country. If Rosier doesn’t get the nod, Richt will go with one of three freshmen in N’Kosi Perry, Cade Weldon or Jarren Williams (true freshman). Right now, Perry is the likely choice. Miami is loaded at the skill positions and on defense but they need to replace two starting defensive tackles and starting cornerback Malek Young. Still, for this Week 6 home date, the canes are the pick to get past a Florida State team that no one really knows how good they’ll be right now and one that could need some time to learn Willie Taggart’s new schemes. Miami picked up a 24-20 road win a year ago and now, they’ll make it two straight! NCAA Football Week 6 Betting Pick: Miami 30 Florida State 23

Oklahoma at Texas

The Oklahoma Sooners went 12-2 last season and fell just short of reaching the national championship under first-year head coach Lincoln Riley. The bad news heading into 2018 is that the Sooners will need to replace an all-time great in quarterback Baker Mayfield, who just so went on to become the top pick in the NFL Draft. Not only that, but left tackle Orlando Brown and tight end Mark Andrews, both unanimous All-Americans, are also gone. Now, Riley will turn to either former Texas A&M starter Kyler Murray or former four-star recruit Austin Kendall to fill Baker’s shoes, but it’s going to be daunting to say the least. At Texas, the Longhorns head into Year 2 of the Tom Herman era after going 7-6 a year ago under the former Houston Cougars head coach. After foolishly playing some musical chairs with his quarterbacks last season, Herman is almost surely going with gifted dual-threat signal-caller Sam Ehlinger who played well when called upon last season. Herman will need to find out who his starting tailback will be and the Horns need to replace linebacker Malik Jefferson (the Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Year), defensive tackle Poona Ford (the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year), safety DeShon Elliott (a Thorpe Award finalist) and cornerback Holton Hill, but Texas should be better in 2018 simply because they’re in their second year under the widely respected Herman who turned Houston into a big-time winner during his time there. Oklahoma has won two straight in the long and ballyhooed red River Showdown, including a 29-24 win last season, but I’m expecting Texas to get back in the win column in 2018 simply because Baker Mayfield is gone. NCAA Football Week 6 Betting Pick: Texas 31 Oklahoma 27

Must Bet Games and Picks for College Football Week 6
I don’t want to say the 2017 college football season really starts in Week 6, but in a way it does because that’s the first weekend of October and all the teams will be done with those non-conference cupcakes and be facing tough division opponents. Here are two game recommendations for Week 6 with my projected betting odds for the 2017 College Football season.

Must Bet Games and Picks for College Football Week 6

Louisville Cardinals at NC State Wolfpack

When: Thursday, Oct. 5, 8 PM ET Where: Carter-Finley Stadium, Raleigh TV: ESPN Radio: WHAS 840 AM (Louisville) / Wolfpack Sports Network (NC State) Opening College Football Week 6 Lines: Louisville -10 Do not sleep on NC State this year as this is going to be one of the best defensive clubs in the ACC. The starting lineup is loaded with seniors, including one of the best defensive lines not just in the ACC, but all of FBS. Defensive ends Bradley Chubb and Kentavius Street are NFL prospects who combined for 16 sacks in 2016. The defensive tackles are both 315 pounds, strong yet athletic. Backup DE Darian Roseboro had seven sacks as a sophomore, and seven of the top eight are back from a unit that had onesenior and one junior in the top nine (much more experienced). The Wolfpack also return QB Ryan Finley, a graduate transfer from Boise State. Finley was steady but not spectacular in his first season in the ACC. He completed 60.4 percent of his passes for 3,059 yards with 18 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He’ll need to take more chances downfield this season. Four starters return on the offensive line. Of course Louisville had one of the best offenses in the country last year led by Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Lamar Jackson. That group should be dynamic again. Last year, Jackson racked up 3,543yards passing, 1,571 rushing and 51 total touchdowns, but the junior should become a more polished passer to go with his electric playmaking prowess.

How Are the Cardinals Looking Like?

Across the line of scrimmage, Louisville returns seven starters from a defense that ranked 14th nationally (322.2 yards per game), including linebacker Stacy Thomas (85 tackles) and cornerback Jaire Alexander (five interceptions). LBs James Hearns and Trevon Young have been named to the preseason watch list for the Dick Butkus Award. A starter in 12 games last season, Hearns led the Cardinals in sacks with 8.0 and also was credited with 11.0 tackles for loss. Hearns tallied a sack in at least six games, including a career-high two in the win over NC State. Young, a standout during the 2015 season, sat out all of last year after suffering a major injury in the Music City Bowl win over Texas A&M. That season, Young finished with 8.5 sacks in 12 games, and also registered 10.0 tackles for loss. The Cards routed NC State 54-13 in 2016. Jackson had four first-half touchdowns (three passing, one rushing). He threw TD passes of 74 yards to Jaylen Smith, 3 yards to Cole Hikutini and 16 yards to Jamari Staples.

LSU Tigers at Florida Gators

When: Saturday, Oct. 7, TBA Where: Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville TV: TBA Stream: TBA Radio: 98.1 FM (LSU) / Gators Sports Network (Florida) Opening College Football Week 6 Lines: Florida -3 If you are a casual college football fan but follow the SEC, you might be asking why LSU is visiting Florida not just in 2017 but ’18. Obviously schools that play annually are supposed to switch home and away every year (even at neutral sites). However, after the October 2016 game between the Gators and Tigers in Gainesville was (unnecessarily) postponed due to Tropical Storm Matthew hitting Florida, what followed was several days of uncertainty as to when, where and if the game would be made up. Officials from both sides bickered back and forth before the SEC office finally mediated a solution — that the game would take place Nov. 19 in Baton Rouge. Florida won that game 16-10, stopping LSU on the goal line in the final seconds to seal the SEC East championship. As a result of last year’s venue change, Florida gets an extra home game this year, with LSU traveling to Gainesville in both 2017 and 2018. Recently, the Gators designated this one as their 2017 homecoming.

What Has Happened Recently in Florida?

The Gators did suffer a big loss recently as safety Marcell Harris is done for the season with a torn Achilles tendon. Harris had a team-high 73 tackles, four for loss, one sack, two interceptions and one fumble return for a touchdown last season — his first as a full-time starter. Sophomore Jeawon Taylor and freshman Quincy Lenton, who were injured this spring, could be options to step in for Harris. As for last year’s 16-10 UF win, it was a defensive battle and should be again here. Florida’s defense stuffed LSU’s Derrius Guice on a do-or- die run from the 1-yard line in the final seconds. Florida quarterback Austin Appleby completed only seven passes on 17 attempts, but one of his connections went for a pivotal 98-yard touchdown to Tyrie Cleveland. Eddy Piniero scored the rest of Florida’s points on field goals of 36, 24 and 34 yards. LSU outgained UF 423-270.

Expert College Football Week 6 Prediction

If NC State is indeed getting double-digit points at home against Louisville, then I’m taking them. You really have to wait and see who starts at QB this season for the Gators, but I believe LSU is the second-best team in the SEC so I’d take any points.
