2017 Edition

Stricker and O’Hair combined to shoot a fantastic 26 under par and winning by two strokes over the pair of Shane Lowry and Graeme McDowell. Stricker and O’Hair are also both past champions at this tournament with different partners. The bad news for this pair head into this year’s event is that Stricker hasn’t played a PGA Tour event since missing the cut at the Wyndham Championship in August while O’Hair has missed the cut in three of his four starts on the PGA Tour this season.

2018 Betting Preview

Sean O’Hair and Steve Stricker are the defending champs, but it is the combination of Bryson DeChambeau and Kevin Na that enter this year’s event as the prohibitive favorites at 5-1. The pair is followed closely by Cameron Champ and Kevin Kisner at 11-2 and then, the pairing of Billy Horschel and Brandt Snedeker as a 13-2 pick.

LPGA star Lexi Thompson is the only female in the field and she’ll team up with World No. 9 Tony Finau looking to get the history-making win after finishing in a three-way tie for fourth a year ago. In 2016, Thompson and partner Bryson DeChambeau finished in a tie for eleventh along with Mike Weir and Gary Woodland. In 2006, former LPGA Tour superstar Annika Sorenstam finished 12th with partner Fred Couples. Thompson and Sorenstam are the only two women to play in the event since it started in 1989.

Lexi Thompson is one of the favorites to win the 2018 QBE Shootout.

Luke Donald hasn’t played a shot on the PGA Tour since he missed the cut at the RBC Heritage in April, but he’s in the field with partner Andrew Landry. Donald missed six months with a lower back injury in 2018 and he will start the 2019 season on a major medical extension.

“The state of the game is unknown,” he said after his pro-am round Wednesday. “We’ll see. I’ve been able to work hard the last couple months with no pain. I’ve certainly been putting in the time, but to bring it from your home course out here into a competitive situation, we’ll see how it goes.”
