Like the rest of the sporting world, the PGA has put all of their events on hold for now, with the Masters and the Players Championship already falling prey to the coronavirus situation. On the bright side of things, it does look as though we are going to get some golf this month, although it will be an event that no-one really expected. What do you get when you pair two of the best golfers in the modern game with two of the best QB’s ever to grace the NFL? You get The Match: Champions for Charity, which will feature Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning going head to head against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady in an event set to be televised on TNT. The official date has not yet been announced, but Memorial Day weekend looks the most likely. Let’s take a look at some of the Golf props available for this one.
Golf Specials Odds & Props
Game Play Wagers
One of the great things about this charity event, where all the proceeds will go towards COVID-19 relief, is that you can bet on each hole individually. It is Woods and Manning who have the slight edge in each of the 18 holes, so there is certainly a chance to make some underdog picks if you think that Mickelson and Brady can steal a couple of holes along the way. You can also wager on which team you think will be leading after the first 9 holes, with Woods/Manning in at -165 and Mickelson/Brady in at +125. You never really know what might happen in these fun types of events, so it might well be worth taking a risk on the underdogs.
Special Prop Bets
While not quite on the level of the Golf prop bets available at the Super Bowl, there are some fun wagers to sink your teeth into in this event. Phil Mickelson is a player that we often see wearing headgear when he plays, but what will he opt to wear during this event? You can wager on a visor at -150 or a baseball cap at +110. Given what we have seen from him in the past, the visor looks like a good bet.
You know that TNT are going to be showing lots of different clips of these great athletes from years past, but one wager focuses specifically on the QB’s. Will they choose to show a clip of Brady first, or will it be Manning who get the first clip. With Brady having more highlights to draw on, he would seem like the logical bet here. Brady is in at -130, while a Manning clip being shown first during the broadcast is available at +110.
If Brady chooses to wear a hat, which logo do you think will be on display. We all know that he has his own TB12 brand, but he might also choose to show some love for his new team by wearing a Tampa Bay Buccaneers cap. The Bucs logo is a longshot at +250, while the TB12 hat looks to be a bit of a lock at -400.
There are tons of these prop bets out there right now, some of which feature TV ads, while others are about words that might be spoken while the players walk the course. This is going to be a fin event to watch, and one that is going to be a blast to wager on.
