Spartans Looking to Finish Strong

San Jose State fell into a three way tie for the title in the Mountain West Conference regular season, and were the odd team out to head to the conference title game. The Spartans lost their first two games of the season, allowing 49 points per game to USC and Oregon State. Three more losses to Toledo, Air Force and Boise State had them sitting at 1-5.

Winning their last six games of the season was an impressive finish for the Spartans. They were led by quarterback Chevan Cordiero with his 2,558 passing yards and 19 touchdowns. Nick Nash was his top target, with 47 receptions, 704 yards and 8 touchdowns on the season.

The run game averaged nearly 187 yards per game, anchored by Kairee Robinson. He finished with 1,127 yards and 18 touchdowns. San Jose State scored 33.3 points per game, and allowed opponents just shy of 26.

New Looked Chanticleers

For Coastal Carolina, it was a different story, as they started 2-3, and then were 7-3, before back to back losses at Army and at home to James Madison to finish the season. In the final two losses, the Chanticleers allowed an average of 42 points per game.

The Coastal Carolina defense allowed 24.7 points per game during the season. The offense scored 27 points per game. Offensively, Grayson McCall led the charge under center, but he will not play in this game, as he entered the transfer portal and will play at NC State next season.

The Chanticleers will likely send Ethan Vasko out under center. He has the ability to run the football, as well as throw it, giving them a new look.

West Beats East

This game will feature some new wrinkles for both teams. After spending basically a month off from playing games, and adding and deleting players, it will be interesting to see how these teams fare. Look for San Jose State to get off to a quick start, and not look back. The Spartans seem to have figured something out offensively, and they are going to use it in this game

Our final bet for this game on Saturday is the San Jose Spartans -10.5 over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. Enjoy the game and best of luck with all your College Football bowl game betting!

Who is Playing in the 2022 Hawaiʻi Bowl? | Florida Gators versus Oregon State Betting Preview

Once this season is finally over and done with, we will have one more year of the status quo before big changes come in the 2024 season. Some conferences are doing away with divisions, while also seeing teams heading to new conference homes, but it is the change to the playoffs that is the biggest deal of them all. When the 2024 season rolls around, we will make the switch to a 12-team playoff, a move that has been on the cards for several years now. How that impacts bowl season as a whole remains to be seen, so for now, all we can do is focus on the present. Bowl season is upon us, with the action starting a few short days. We are going to do all we can to cover as many of the games as possible. For this one, we are looking at the Hawaiʻi Bowl, which will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Sin City at 2:30 PM EST on December 17. Florida and Oregon State will meet in this one, with the Beavers a 10-point favorite and the point total set at 52 ½. That being said, it’s time to have a closer look at both teams and how they arrive to this matchup so you can bet against their College Football Bowl Odds.

Florida Gators

It was a season of change for the Florida Gators, who brought in Bill Napier to replace Dan Mullen, who was fired at the tail end of last season. It takes time for a college coach to start recruiting the players he wants to play in the system put in place, and it was certainly a trying first season for Napier, who saw his team finish at 6-6, which is well off the pace of what Gators fans expect from their team. The Gators got off to a promising start, taking out a ranked Coastal Carolina team in the opening week of the season, but they were unable to find the level of consistency needed to make a run at a championship. They ended up going just 3-5 in the SEC, which will not cut it when playing in the same division as Georgia. Florida went 7-5 ATS this season and saw the OVER hit in 7 of their 12 games.

Oregon State Beavers

The Beavers had a bit of a rollercoaster ride this season, going through hot periods of play and a couple of downturns. They made it look easy against lesser opposition to get to 3-0 on the season, but then ended up taking back-to-back losses against ranked Coastal Carolina and USC. They righted the ship and won 3 in a row after that before losing to Washington in an absolute season killer. They could have easily gone into the hole after that, but the Beavers finished strong, reeling off 3 in a row to close out the season. They will be coming into this one with the goal of making it double-digit wins in 2022. The Oregon State Beavers averaged roughly 32 PPG and surrendered a touch over 21 PPG, so pretty well rounded. They were an impressive 10-2 ATS and 7-5 O/U.

Betting and Prediction

The Beavers are a pretty solid favorite for this one, although I have to say that the 10-point spread makes me a little nervous. I would be inclined to go with the Gators to keep things a little closer, although I do like Oregon State to win. The wager that I’ll be going with here is the OVER, as I think we are looking at a potential shootout.

Who is Playing in the 2022 Hawaii Bowl? | Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders vs San Diego State Aztecs Betting Preview

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (7-5) and San Diego State Aztecs (7-5) could not have been too upset when they found out they’d be playing in the 2022 EasyPost Hawai’i Bowl. Middle Tennessee heads to the island out of Conference USA, while San Diego State has been a mainstay in the Mountain West Conference. The bowl matchup will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

The Christmas Eve kickoff is at 8 p.m. EST at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu, Hawaii. San Diego State is a seven-point favorite, and the over/under total is 49.5 points. With all that in mind, let’s have a look at the upcoming Hawaii Bowl game between Middle Tennessee and San Diego State so you can bet on the NCAA Football Bowl line.

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders

After a rough start, the Blue Raiders turned the season around to win four of their last five and become bowl eligible. Middle Tennessee finished the regular season in a tie for fourth place in Conference USA. Rick Stockstill is in his 17th season as head coach of the Blue Raiders.

The offense for Middle Tennessee averaged 29.2 points and 390.0 yards during the regular season. On the defensive-side of the ball, the Blue Raiders held opponents to 28.1 points and 321.8 yards of offense.

Chase Cunningham guided the Blue Raiders offense, passing for 2,920 yards, 19 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Cunningham completed 67.4% of his throws and added six TDs on the ground.

In the run game, Frank Peasant was the primary ball carrier for MTSU, tallying 165 carries for 747 yards and nine touchdowns. Peasant averaged 4.5 yards per carry and hauled in 26 receptions out of the backfield.

Cunningham spread the ball around through the air, with three receivers having 48 receptions or more. Jaylin Lane led the trio, catching 59 passes for 829 yards and four scores.

San Diego State Aztecs

San Diego State won five of its final seven games but ended the regular season with a loss against the Air Force. The Aztecs finished conference play with a 5-3 mark, sitting in second place in their division of the MWC. The football program is guided by third-year head coach Brady Hoke.

Offensively, the Aztecs scored 21.3 points per contest while averaging 321.8 yards of offense. SDSU’s defense surrendered 20.2 points and 335.4 yards to opposing offenses.

Jalen Mayden took over the quarterbacking duties after the first five games, finishing the season completing 62.9% of his throws for 1,721 yards. Mayden tossed ten touchdowns and threw seven interceptions.

San Diego State utilized numerous running backs throughout the year, splitting time between five running backs. Jordan Byrd, Jaylon Armstead, and Kenon Christon led the way, combining for 963 yards and six touchdowns.

On the outside, the wide receiving usage was similar to the run game, with multiple players stepping up. Tyrell Shaver tallied 581 yards, averaging 17.1 yard per catch, and found the endzone three times. Jesse Matthews led the Aztecs with 38 receptions, racking up 409 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
