When it comes to placing odds for Breeders Cup, betting $100 wisely can be a challenge in the world of horse racing. Instead of spreading your funds too thin, it’s essential to focus your investment strategically. For this analysis, I’m zeroing in on two key races: the Breeders’ Cup Distaff and the Breeders’ Cup Classic, where you can make the most of your wager.

Betting the Top Stakes Races for the Weekend
It’s tough to spread around $100 in horse racing. Instead, you must be judicious.
In this case, I’m concentrating on two races to utilize my $100: the Breeders’ Cup Distaff and the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
Both races are on Saturday’s card. Check it out!
Writer’s Picks on the Top Skates Happenning this Weekend
$2 Pick 3 Starting with Race 6 – Breeders’ Cup Distaff
Race 6 – BC Distaff
Single – Thorpedo Anna
Idiomatic won’t run, which means the race is Thorpedo Anna’s to lose.
The Kenny McPeek miss could go off at even money in this but just because the odds are low, it doesn’t mean the odds aren’t fair.
Thorpedo Anna has her competition over a barrel.
Only Idiomatic could have beaten her.
So I’m starting off the Pick 3 with the obvious single and then hope to hit a price horse in the Turf.
Race 7 – BC Turf
Use: Content, Rebel’s Romance, Emily Upjohn, Shahryar, Rousham Park, Luxembourg, Far Bridge
I’m betting a Japanese or Euro wins this race.
Far Bridge is the lone North American horse I’m adding to the mix.
Content and Luxembourg go for Aidan O’Brien, Rebel’s Romance, Emily Upjohn, and Rousham Park have a shot.
Shahryar, which won the Dubai Sheema Classic, and Rousham Park are the Japanese horses.
Race 8 – BC Classic
Single: City of Troy
The Aidan O’Brien monster has won 6-of-7 lifetime.
Most of those wins came in Grade 1 events.
Almost as important is that City of Troy calls Triple Crown winner Justify pops, which means City of Troy should relish the dirt.
Fierceness is going to find it more difficult holding off City of Troy in the Classic than he did Thorpedo Anna in the Travers.
$2 Picks Ticket Cost: $14
$46 to Win on City of Troy at Race 9
City of Troy may go off second or third choice if money starts landing on Fierceness.
Unless Fierceness turns into American Pharoah in this, City of Troy should win. The Aidan O’Brien trainee is 6-of-7 lifetime with multiple Grade 1 wins.
Yes, those wins happened on turf but Justify on top suggests he’ll have no issue running on dirt.
O’Brien is the best trainer in the world right now.
So give City of Troy a big chance to beat the North Americans.
BC Ticket Cost: $46
$10 Exacta Box – Highland Falls / City of Troy
City of Troy should win the race. But if he loses it will be to Highland Falls.
The Brad Cox trained horse won the Whitney by 9 ½ lengths.
It makes sense to play the box because Highland Falls should offer some value.
BC Ticket Cost: $20
$5 Exactas – City of Troy w/Derma Sotogake, Ushba Tesoro, Forever Young, Senor Buscador
Derma Sotogake, Ushba Tesoro, and Forever Young, all from Japan, are quality equines.
Forever Young finished third in the Kentucky Derby, Ushba Tesoro has Grade 1 wins on the resume, and Derma Sotogake ran well in this last year.
Senor Buscador is the longshot exacta play.
If City of Troy wins and the talented closer rushes to finish second, the exacta should pay big.
BC Ticket Cost: $20

The Breeders Cup card on Saturday, October 31st features 9 huge races that every sportsbetting fan should at least explore heading to this weekend. We covered the first 4 (races 3-6) in an earlier article, so now let’s take a look at the next 4 on the card.
Taking a Closer Look at the 2015 Breeders Cup Saturday Races Sportsbetting Fans Should View
Race 7 is the $1.5 million Twin Spires Sprint with a field of 14. The pick of this group is Runhappy and trainer Maria Borell, but he is one that you select at your own peril. He is an absolute beast of a horse with power and speed to burn, but he also has made a habit of stumbling out the gate. If he gets a clean break, he should easily put this field away. Private Zone and Limousine Liberal are the horses most likely to benefit from any kind of starting gate issues should they arise.
Race 8 is the $2 million Breeders Cup Mile featuring a field of 12. This is another race where putting your money on the European entries might well be a very good idea. French horse Make Believe is definitely worth taking a look at, as is Tepin, who already has an impressive win over the Keeneland course this season. Those two are likely to land in the money, as is Esoterique. If you want a horse at a longer price to add to your exotic tickets, I would consider throwing Woodbine Mile winner Mondialiste in there.
Race 9 is the $2 million Sentient Jet Breeders Cup Juvenile featuring a field of 14. This is another race where the early pace could well dictate the winner. Brody’s Cause has ridiculous closing speed, and could well run them all down if the pace up front is a little slower. If it stays hot, he may have to settle for a share of the spoils. Exaggerator and Unbridled Outlaw are also likely to figure in the money, and you should also keep an eye out for longshot Rated R Superstar.
Race 10 is the $3 mIllion Longines Turf featuring a field of 12. Looking down the entire Saturday race card, there are few horses that are of the quality of Golden Horn in this one. He has won 7 of his first 8 starts, and the lone loss came by a mere neck. It’s tough to see him not winning this race, which is why he should be keyed on top in your exotics. The Pizza Man, Big Blue Kitten, and Found should also be in there for a share of this huge purse.
