Horse Racing Odds & Picks for February 6th Races

Aqueduct Racetrack

  • Grade 3 Withers Stakes – 1 1/8 miles dirt – $250,000

Both of Todd Pletcher’s 3-year-old Derby contenders failed in the Holy Bull. Todd is back on Saturday with another contender, Overlook. The Pletcher runner should fight Capo Kane for favoritism.

Gulfstream Park

  • Grade 3 Suwannee River Stakes – 1 1/8 miles turf – $100,000

Chad Brown trained Great Island finished behind Always Shopping and Cap de Creus in the Via Borghese in her last. She may go off the favorite in the Suawnnee River. Christophe Clement trained Logic and Reason, La Signare, and Don’t Blame Judy are also contenders.

Tampa Bay Racetrack

  • Grade 3 Endeavour Stakes – 1 1/16 miles turf – $175,000

Feel Glorious and Counterparty Risk should fight for favoritism in the Grade 3 Endeavour. Horseplayers also figure to bet Bill Mott trained New York Girl. Those three may have the rest of the field over a barrel.

  • Grade 3 Tampa Bay Stakes – 1 1/16 miles turf – $175,000

12 horses are probable for the $175,000 Tampa Bay Stakes. Of the 12, the likely favorite if he goes will be Grade 2 American Turf winner Fancy Liquor. Don’t look past the Chad Brown runner, Delaware, though. The 5-year-old horse is taking a huge step down in class.

  • Grade 3 Sam F. Davis Stakes – 1 1/16 miles dirt – $250,000

12 horses could also enter the starting gate for the Sam F. Davis Stakes. Expect the race to weed out non-Derby contenders. Known Agenda, the Grade 2 Remsen third-place finisher, could challenge for favoritism. Smiley Sobotka and last out maiden winner Broadway are a couple of others who could go off the chalk.

Santa Anita Park

  • Grade 3 Thunder Road Stakes – 1 mile dirt – $100,000

Peter Miller trained Hembree has won 2 in a row, including taking the Grade 2 Joe Hernandez in the 7-year-old horse’s last. Hembree has a big shot to make it 3 in a row on Saturday. Don’t accept underlay odds, though. Bob and Jackie, Award Winner, Whisper Not, and Sombeyay are all capable.

  • Grade 2 Las Virgenes Stakes – 1 mile dirt – $200,000

Bob Baffert has a couple in here, Kalypso and Frosteria. Kalypso won the Grade 2 Santa Ynez in her last. Frosteria finished second. No doubt, Kalypso offers even money or worse to win this. Horse bettors may get overlay odds on the Richard Mandella trained Monlight D’Oro. If so, she’ll be hard to pass up since she won her last race.
