The Oakland A’s (21-25) have finally hauled themselves off the bottom of the AL West, but if truth be told, it is more to do with the current collapse of the Seattle Mariners as opposed to anything that Oakland are doing. They are currently 5 games above .500 in their own ball park, but are just 6-15 on the road. That has to be a little troubling when you consider that the Yankees have one of the best home records in baseball right now. Kendall Graveman (2-2, 3.83 ERA) will start for the A’s.

The New York Yankees (27-17) have made a blistering start to the season, although they have cooled of a little of late, going just 5-5 in their last 10 games. Despite being just .500 in their recent stretch of games, they have been able to open up a 2.5-game lead at the top of the AL East, simply because the chasing pack are all floundering. There is no real secret to the Yankees success this season, as looking at both their offensive and defensive stats make it clear why they are doing so well. Aaron Judge continues to impress in his rookie season, hitting 15 HR and batting .328. CC Sabathia (4-2, 4.62 ERA) will be on the mound for the Yankees.
