Even though Houston lost Game 3 by 7 runs, it’s pretty clear to me that they are the better team in this ALCS matchup, just as they’ve been all season long. No doubt the Yankees did make the series more interesting. However, right now, I’m thinking the Yankees are going to be outplayed, seeing as how Houston was the best team in all baseball for a long stretch to start the regular season. Sonny Gray has gotten smacked around in his last two outings and I can definitely see Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa continuing that disturbing trend for the solid, but not great, New York starter. Houston is 7-3 in their last 10 games, 5-2 in their last 7 League Championship games and 12-4 in their last 16 games against a team with a winning record. New York is just 2-3 in their last 5 League Championship home games, 2-9 in their last 11 League Championship games and 1-4 in Sonny Gray’s last 5 starts. Things aren’t looking good for New York.
