MLB Series You Shouldn’t Miss This Week (July 3rd)

Written by on July 3, 2017

The All-Star break is almost upon us, and this week represents the final full week of the first half of the season. There is something special about finishing the first half on top of the division, and while it’s is no guarantee that things will end this way when the playoffs start, there is sure to be a bit of a scramble among MLB series this week as teams go in search of divisional dominance in the first half. With that in mind, there are a lot of great series on tap this week, many of which require your betting attention. We will have picks and predictions for a ton of MLB games this week, but for now, let’s take a closer look at some of the series that are sure to be hot among MLB bettors.

MLB Series You Shouldn’t Miss This Week (July 3rd)

Boston Red Sox at Texas Rangers – Monday to Wednesday

The Boston Red Sox have finally opened up a lead on the Yankees at the top of the AL East, taking advantage of the current poor form of New York to go up by 3 games. Boston will start this week with a trip to Texas to face the Rangers in a series that is going to be a whole lot tougher than it might appear on paper. The Ranger have definitely underperformed this season, but they have also had stretches where they have looked like a very dangerous ball club. This is by no means a slam dunk for the Red Sox.

LA Angels at Minnesota Twins – Monday to Wednesday

These are a pair of teams that are currently occupying second place in their respective divisions, but who are in a very different position in another way. The Twins are just 3 games back of the Indians in their division, while the Angels are a distant second in a division that is being dominated by the Astros. The Twins could conceivably steal back top spot this week, while the Angels are simply trying to stay close in the Wild Card race. All of that said, these two seem pretty evenly matched.

Arizona Diamondbacks at LA Dodgers – Tuesday to Thursday

The NL West is where you will find one of the most intriguing divisional battles taking place right now. The Dodgers have forged their way to the top, but have the Diamondbacks nipping right at their heels. The Rockies are in a slump right now, but they may be able to turn things around and capitalize on a slip by either of these teams in this MLB series. The Dodgers have been solid at home, but the Diamondbacks have proven that they are a solid challenger in the making.

Milwaukee Brewers at New York Yankees – Friday to Sunday

There have been a few surprise teams that have risen to the role of contender in the first half of the season, but perhaps none as surprising as the Milwaukee Brewers. They were expected to be better this season, but they were certainly not expected to be 2 games up on the Chicago Cubs at the top of the NL Central. The Brewers will close out the first half of the season with a tough trip to New York to face a Yankees team that is starting to slip. This has the chance to be the best MLB series of the weekend, and one that is crying out to be wagered on.

Boston Red Sox at Tampa Bay Rays – Friday to Sunday

For a while, the AL East looked as though it was going to turn into a 2-horse race between the Red Sox and the Yankees, but the Tampa Bay Rays have quietly put together a nice run of form that has pulled them to within 5 games of Boston at the top. While it is unlikely that Tampa will hit the top of the division prior to the end of the week, they can certainly put some real pressure on the leaders by taking care of them at home.
