MLB Top Games Of The Weekend

Written by on July 22, 2016

We are at the stage of the MLB season where the trade deadline is fast approaching, and teams are going to have to decide whether they are going to be buyers or sellers. Most of the teams in the league will have already made up their mind, but there may be a few that are still on the fence. The outcome of the next 10 days might well push them one way or another, and it all starts this weekend with some very good match-ups. As is the case with every weekend in the MLB, it’s a pretty full calendar, so before you log in to your online sportsbook to wager, let’s take a look at some of the weekend series that might well be worth having a look at.

MLB Top Games Of The Weekend

Cleveland at Baltimore

This is perhaps the best series on tap for the weekend, as it features a pair of teams that are very much in a position to win their respective divisions. The Cleveland Indians have opened up a 7-game lead in the Central, but have been playing some mediocre ball of late, having gone just 5-5 in their last 10 games. The Orioles were leading the way for a major portion of the first half, but they have now given up the lead in the East to the red hot Boston Red Sox. They too are just 5-5 in their last 10 games.

Texas at Kansas

The Rangers are one of those teams who are rumored to be looking at making some moves at the trade deadline. They have some real injury concerns at the moment, and have seen their lead in the West cut down to 3.5 games. They are just 2-8 in their last 10 games, and really need a series win to get things rolling again. The World Champion Royals are not having a particularly good season, and are currently 9 games back in the Central. It’s going to be interesting to see what they do when the deadline hits.

LA Dodgers at Houston

This is a very interesting looking interleague series, as both of these teams are in a chasing role in their respective divisions. The Dodgers have seen the West go their way for the past few season, but they are currently sitting 3 games back of the Giants, although they have been very slowly chipping away at the lead for the past couple of weeks. The Houston Astros are closing the gap on the Texas Rangers in the West, and will be looking to continue picking up wins with the Rangers currently on a real slide. These are just three of the series on tap for this weekend, but you have plenty of other wagering options open to you in the MLB. We will be taking a look at some of the individual games, and trying to put some parlays together for the weekend that will help you boost your bankroll.
