Top MLB Betting Picks of the Week – June 18th Edition

With the sports headlines being dominated by the World Cup in Russia right now, it’s easy to forget that there are other sports being played. The MLB season is creeping ever closer to the midway point, and we have some great races taking place in many of the divisions across the American and National Leagues. The great thing about baseball is that it does not clash with the World Cup, as the soccer games are over in the early afternoon, leaving you plenty of time to get your MLB Betting action each night. Based on the latest pro-baseball odds, we are going to look ahead at this week and pick out some games where we think you might be able to cash a winning ticket or two.

Top MLB Betting Picks of the Week – June 18th Edition

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Houston Astros – Monday

After spending a little time looking up at the Seattle Mariners in the AL West, the World Series champions are back on top and rolling along quite nicely. The Houston Astros come into this week on an 11-game winning streak, and they will get the ball rolling on Monday with a series against the Tampa Bay Rays. While the Astros have been better away than at home this season, they will be facing a team that is 4 games under .500 on the road and who are already essentially out of the running for a postseason spot. The Astros have been about as close to perfect as it gets over the last couple of weeks, and I think they extend their win streak to 12 in this one.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Atlanta Braves – Tuesday

The Atlanta Braves are continuing to impress with their young group of players this season, and they now own an unexpected 3 ½ game lead over the Washington Nationals in the National League East. They have what looks to be another very winnable series against the Toronto Blue Jays to start off this week, and it is the Tuesday match-up where I think we see the most likely win for the Braves. Their hot bats will likely tear up expected starter Jaime Garcia, who has an ERA approaching 6 this season with the Blue Jays. I think that there is a very good chance that the Braves will be knocking the cover off the ball and getting the easy win here.

Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Indians – Wednesday

I always look for pitching mismatches when looking for games to wager on in the MLB, and I think we have one of those on Wednesday night. Corey Kluber has been nothing short of brilliant for the Cleveland Indians, picking up 10 wins on the season and posting a very solid 2.24 ERA. He is coming off a loss to the Twins in his last start, which is why I like him to bounce back in a big way here. The Indians should be one of your MLB Betting picks of the week. The White Sox are struggling to get anything going on offense this season, so look for Kluber to mow the batters down with relative ease on the road to a win.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Pittsburgh Pirates – Thursday

The Diamondbacks ended the week with back to back losses but are still a very respectable 7-3 in their last 10 games. They also still hold a game and a half lead over the surging LA Dodgers in the NL West. The road has not been overly kind to the D-Backs, as they are playing .500 ball away from home, but I still like them to get the win on Thursday against the Pirates. Pittsburgh is in a slump after making a solid start to the season, and while they have been better at home, I still think they are in trouble here.
