For teams that are near the bottom of the standings in their respective divisions, getting people into the seats for home games can become a tough task. The only time when things get a little better in that regard is when a team like the Yankees or the Dodgers comes to town, although in recent years, interleague play has helped spice things up a little. It’s always cool to go to the ballpark to see a team that never comes to town, but it’s perhaps even more fun to wager on these games, although trying to handicap those games can be a little tougher.
We have one of those matchups coming on Wednesday afternoon, as the Toronto Blue Jays will once again be in San Francisco to take on the Giants. This will be the 4th and final meeting between these two teams this season, with the Giants holding a 2-1 lead in games played thus far. It is the Giants who are favored by 1 ½ for this one, with the run total set at 8.

Why bet on the Toronto Blue Jays?
The Blue Jays really needed a win after going through a bit of a miserable slump, which is exactly what they got in a 7-3 road win versus the Giants on Tuesday. The meetings between these teams this year have been odd in that it has been the road team that has won each time. It was the Giants who won both games in Toronto in their previous meeting so the Blue Jays will be out for the ultimate revenge here.
At 9-11, the Blue Jays actually have 1 more win on the road than they do at home, although their 17-24 overall record is certainly nothing to celebrate. Toronto has been a decent bet at a road dog this season, going 11-8 ATS in those games. Recently called-up Edwin Jackson will get the start here.
Team Stats
Offense- Runs: 3.61
- Hits: 7.29
- Walks: 2.90
- Strike Outs: 9.56
Defense
- Runs: 4.34
- Hits: 7.68
- Walks: 3.78
- Strike Outs: 8.73
Why bet on the San Francisco Giants?
The Giants are a lot like the Blue Jays in that it looks as though their season may already be over. They are currently rooted to the cellar of the NL West, already 9 ½ games off the pace being set at the top by the LA Dodgers. Overall, the Giants have a 17-24 record, which includes a rather poor 8-12 record in their own ballpark.
Given that they took both games against the Blue Jays in Toronto, they probably had a good feeling about these two games, but they were soundly beaten 7-3 on Tuesday night. Things are just as bad against the spread when the Giants play at home, as they are just 7-13 ATS. They have also only covered once in their last 4 games overall. Shaun Anderson will make his first major league start on Wednesday afternoon.
Team Stats
Offense- Runs: 3.90
- Hits: 7.41
- Walks: 2.76
- Strike Outs: 8.90
Defense
- Runs: 4.88
- Hits: 8.46
- Walks: 3.22

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction for Blue Jays vs Giants
This is a particularly tough one to call given that we have a pair of pitchers with no date to draw on this season. Let’s stick with the trend of the road team winning this series and take the Blue Jays to win.
