The Twins have lost three of their last five games including Monday’s 10-8 loss to the Tigers in the series opener. Back the Tigers to get the win behind Justin Verlander. Chicago Cubs (27-9) at Milwaukee Brewers (16-22)

Where: Miller Park Starting Pitchers: Chicago: John Lackey – R (4-2, 3.54 ERA) / Milwaukee: Jimmy Nelson (4-3, 3.51 ERA) Cubs’ right-hander John Lackey (4-2, 3.54 ERA) has been solid, but not outstanding in compiling a 4-3 record and 3.51 ERA. Still, the Cubbies are the easy pick to beat a Brewers ballclub that has defined the word mediocrity this season. Milwaukee right-hander Jimmy Nelson (4-3, 3.51 ERA) has also been pretty solid to start the season, but the veteran starter has lost three straight outings against Chicago ad four of his last five starts overall. The Cubs are averaging 1.6 runs per game more than the Brewers and have gone 23-8 this season as a favorite. Atlanta (9-28) at Pittsburgh (20-17) 7:05 PM ET

Where: PNC Park Starting Pitchers: Atlanta: Julio Teheran (0-4, 3.17 ERA) / Pittsburgh: Francisco Liriano (3-2, 4.99 ERA) The Atlanta Braves are a complete and utter mess this season. The once proud Braves will look to pull off the upset win over Pittsburgh, but I don’t see it happening no matter how hard I try to envision it. The Pirates have won four of the last five meetings against the Braves and six of nine overall. Pittsburgh starter Francisco Liriano has gone 2-0 in his last two starts against the Braves while limiting Atlanta to two earned runs over 13.0 innings. The Braves are averaging a pitiful 3.08 run per game while allowing a whopping 4.89 per contest defensively. Back the Bucs to win ad cash in! My final score prediction is Pittsburgh 5 Atlanta 2
