Cleveland At Cincinnati MLB Winning Predictions

Written by on May 22, 2017

While much of the talk in the early part of this MLB season has been the slow start of the Chicago Cubs, we would be remiss if we didn’t also talk about the start made by the team that they beat in the World Series last season. The Cleveland Indians have made a very similar start to the season as the Cubs, making it clear that there may indeed be a little bit of a hangover going on at both ball clubs. There are signs that the Indians are coming out of their early season swoon, though, and they will have a chance to keep things rolling, and perhaps even help the Cubs out in the process, when they play an interleague series with the Cincinnati Reds to get the new week started. The Reds made a decent start to the season, but have seen their form slip of late. They are starting to lose ground in the division, and could use a strong showing in this series to get back on track. Find the latest MLB betting run lines here.

Why bet on the Cleveland Indians

It’s tough to keep a good ball team down, and the Cleveland Indians (23-19) are proof of that old adage. They come into the new week on a 3-game winning streak, and they are probably pleased that they are starting things out on the road. The Indians are inexplicably 2 games under .500 at home, but are a very solid 15-9 on the road. They are coming off a huge sweep of the Astros over the weekend, where the offense was on fire, and scoring 16 runs through those 3 games. Cleveland will still be looking for more from Edwin Encarnacion, especially since they paid so much to land him, but you get the sense that it’s only a matter of time before he lights things up. Carlos Carrasco (4-2, 2.60 ERA) will start on Tuesday. Why bet on the Cincinnati Reds

Why bet on the Cincinnati Reds

The Cincinnati reds (20-23) were one of the surprise teams at the start of the season, but they have been unable to keep it going through the second month of the season. The Reds have been dropping games on a consistent basis of late, and are just 2-8 in their last 10 games. If there is an upside for the Reds heading into this series, it’s that they have a winning record, albeit only just, in their own ball park. While they are just 2-3 in interleague games through the early part of the season, that still better than the Indians, who are winless in 3 attempts at interleague play. Amir Garrett (3-3, 5.18 ERA) will start for the Reds.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

The Indians are finally starting to show some real signs of life, while the Reds are beginning to slip in a downward direction. You have to like the Indians to come away with a win in this series.
