MLB teams to run “MLB Vaccinate at the Plate” event

All 30 Major League Baseball teams will host at least one event in June where unvaccinated fans can get a free ticket to a game if they are vaccinated during the event. MLB is calling the event MLB Vaccinate at the Plate.

Per Dr. Gary Green, Medical Director of MLB, “Major League Baseball wants to play a role in expanding widespread adoption of the vaccines which have proven to be safe and effective. As more people get vaccinated, the rate of infection decreases and more areas of society can safely reopen. We are proud of the efforts MLB Clubs are taking to help in this effort.”

Major League Baseball is showing they’ve taken the pandemic seriously. Keep reading for more news on how MLB has leaped from a possible season shutdown to all systems go.

Weekly coronavirus results shows MLB is doing well

Also on June 4, MLB announced that 20 of 30 teams had reached the 85% vaccination threshold. Those 20 mustn’t worry about coronavirus protocols the league put in place before the start of the season.

Last week, the league conducted 9,291 tests. Two positives came from the tests, one for an MLB player and one for a Triple-A player, for a .02% positivity rate.

The weekly results show that MLB has done an excellent job getting the word out regarding vaccinations. As more players and personnel on more teams are vaccinated, fewer positives have shown up on weekly tests.

Even at +1200, the Yankees are an underlay to win the World Series

At one time a favorite to win this year’s Fall Classic, the New York Yankees are now a border line underdog. Five teams offer lower odds on MyBookie then the odds at which players can now back the Yankees.

One of the teams offering lower odds are the Tampa Bay Rays. So far, the Rays have shown they’re the class of the AL East by climbing to first-place.

The Boston Red Sox are in second-place. As of June 7, the Toronto Blue Jays are in third-place. NYY is 6.5 games behind the Rays, last in the division.

What’s wrong with the Yankees? For starters, the rotation depends almost exclusively on Gerrit Cole. A single ace pitcher can’t get you a division title, much less a pennant.

Second, the Yankees rank twenty-seventh in runs scored per game. Entering the season, most believed the Yankees would outscore teams and win games while a second ace emerged in the rotation. So far, that hasn’t happened.

San Francisco Giants become a true World Series contender

In the past couple of weeks, odds on the San Francisco Giants to win the World Series have nose-dived from +3300 to +1800. The odds softness on the Giants should continue well past the halfway mark.

San Francisco is proving to be one of the best teams in baseball. The Giants average 4.81 runs per, ranking eighth in MLB.

At 3.30, the current NL West leader ranks fifth in team ERA. The bullpen’s ERA is 3.70, ranking tenth. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more complete team than the San Francisco Giants.

If you believe in the Giants, consider grabbing the +1800 odds. There are enough veterans on the squad to prevent an epic second-half meltdown, which means odds on the Giants should only depreciate.
