Free MLB Betting Predictions – August 7th

Written by on August 7, 2017

It’s the start of another big week of free MLB betting action, and as usual we will be covering as many games as possible over the next few days. Rather than making you all wait for our previews and picks for the week, I thought we might get started early with some baseball betting predictions. I will be picking one game from each day this week to see if we can build up the bankroll a little, which would certainly help with football right around the corner. Without further ado, let’s get to the free MLB betting predictions for this week.

A Closer Look at the Free MLB Betting Predictions – August 7th

Chicago Cubs over San Francisco Giants – Monday

When: Monday, August 7th, 10:08 pm ET Where: AT&T Park TV Info: (Cubs) WGN, ESPN / (Giants) NBC Bay Area, ESPN Radio Info: (Cubs) 670 The Score / (Giants) KXZM 93.7, KNBR 680 Live Stream: MLB.tv Free MLB Betting Odds: TBA It’s a pretty slow day in the MLB on Monday, and the game that jumps right off the page from a betting standpoint is the Cubs and Giants. The Cubs took 3 of 4 from the Giants earlier this season, and while they have slipped a little after a great start to the second half, you still have to believe that they should be more than good enough to take care of the struggling Giants. It’s also worth noting that the OVER only hit once in their previous 4 meetings.

Colorado Rockies over Cleveland Indians – Tuesday

When: Tuesday, August 8th, 7:10 pm ET Where: Progressive Field TV Info: (Rockies) ATT SportsNet-RM / (Indians) SportsTime Ohio Radio Info: (Rockies) KOA 850 AM / 94.1 FM / (Indians) WMMS 100.7, WTAM 1100 Live Stream: MLB.tv Free MLB Betting Odds: TBA With the Rockies on the road for this one, I think we might get a very decent price here. The reason I am going with Colorado is because the Indians have been absolutely brutal in interleague play, going just 5-13 on the season. The Rockies are 7-5 when going against AL teams, and are also a respectable 3 games over .500 away from home. The Indians closed out last week with back to back wins, and are once again feeling the Royals closing in atop the Central.

Boston Red Sox Vs Tampa Bay Rays (OVER) – Wednesday

When: Tuesday, August 9th, 7:10 pm ET Where: Tropicana Field TV Info: (Red Sox) ESPN, NESN / (Rays) FOXSportsSun, ESPN Radio Info: (Red Sox) WEEI 93.7, WCEC 1490 AM / 103.7 FM / (Rays) WDAE 620 AM, 95.3 FM, WGES 680 Live Stream: MLB.tv Free MLB Betting Odds: TBA Recent games have seen both of these teams trending on the UNDER, but you need to look at their head to head battles this season, where 7 of their 11 previous meetings have gone OVER the total. The projected started pitchers for this one are Rick Porcello and Jake Odorizzi, who have given up 23 combined ER in their last 3 starts. I think we will see some offensive fireworks here, so let’s go with the OVER.

New York Mets over Philadelphia Phillies – Thursday

When: Tuesday, August 10th, 7:05 pm ET Where: Citizen Bank Park TV Info: (Mets) SNY / (Phillies) CSN-P Radio Info: (Mets) ESPN Deportes, 710 WOR (Phillies) 94 WIP Live Stream: MLB.tv Free MLB Betting Odds: TBA Neither of these teams have proven to be worthy of a regular bet this season, but the Mets are usually a good pick every 5 games, as that is when Jacob DeGrom takes to the mound. DeGrom is 12-5 with a 3.36 ERA, and has been one of the only bright spots for the Mets this season. I think he will mow down an anemic Phillies offense on Thursday, taking the Mets to the win. The UNDER may be worth a look here, too. The Mets are usually a good free MLB betting pick every 5 games, as that is when Jacob DeGrom takes to the mound.

Milwaukee Brewers over Cincinnati Reds – Friday

When: Tuesday, August 11th, 8:10 pm ET Where: Miller Park TV Info: (Brewers) FSWI / (Reds) FS-O Radio Info: (Brewers) WTMJ 620 (Reds) WLW 700 Live Stream: MLB.tv Free MLB Betting Odds: TBA What we have here is the potential for a pitching mismatch. Jimmy Nelson has been very good for the Brewers this season, going 9-5 and posting a 3.24 ERA. The same cannot be said for Homer Bailey of the Reds, as he has seen his ERA inflated to a rather woeful 8.86. He gave up 10 earned runs in his last start, and in the last 5 games that he has been on the mound, the Reds have given up a total of 40 runs. Should be a comfortable win for Milwaukee.

Updated 2017 MLB Postseason Predictions After Trade Deadline

Kansas City Royals over Chicago White Sox – Saturday

When: Tuesday, August 12th, 8:10 pm ET Where: Guarantee Rate Field TV Info: (Royals) FSKC / (White Sox) CSN-C Radio Info: (Royals) KCSP 610 (White Sox) WLS 890 Live Stream: MLB.tv Free MLB Betting Odds: TBA The Royals got off to an amazing start in the second half, but have fallen off in the past week or so. They are still just 2.5 games off the lead in the Central Division, and I like them to get back to winning ways, sooner rather than later. They will almost certainly have a shot at doing that versus the Chicago White Sox, a team they swept in their last meeting.

LA Dodgers over San Diego Padres – Sunday

When: Tuesday, August 11th, 8:10 pm ET Where: Miller Park TV Info: (Dodgers) SportsNet LA / (Padres) FSSD Radio Info: (Dodgers) KTNQ 1020 / (Padres) XEMO 860 Live Stream: MLB.tv Free MLB Betting Odds: TBA We started the week with what looks to be a pretty comfortable bet, so let’s finish it with the same. The Dodgers are the best team in baseball, and are simply brushing aside everyone in their path. The Padres do not look to be much of a threat, especially in Dodger Stadium, where LA have been almost unbeatable. It certainly also helps that the Dodgers are 7-2 versus the Padres this season.
