Of the four teams that have made it to the Championship Round, only one can really be considered a surprise. The general consensus was that getting to the playoffs and winning the AL Wild Card Game was as good as it was going to get for the New York Yankees, but they have come out and surprised everyone, but not enough to be considered ALCS Game 2 odds favorite, even more after losing Game 1 (1-2) on Friday Night.
The Yankees taking out the Minnesota Twins in the WC game was not totally unexpected, but very few people gave them much of a shot against the Cleveland Indians in the ALDS. After all, this was an Indians team that was a game away from winning a World Series crown last year, and who many believed were actually a better team this season. The Yankees took them out in 5 games, but will once again come in as an underdog in the MLB odds against the red-hot Houston Astros, with game 2 of the ALCS set to go on Saturday afternoon in Houston.
The Astros hammered in a staggering 896 runs in the regular season, the best in MLB, and have added 24 more in their 4 postseason games. While Houston was good at home this year, as they already proved on Friday night, they were even better on the road, which is another issue for the Yankees to face. Justin Verlander was on the mound twice versus the Red Sox, picking up the win in both appearances, he’s a huge reason why the Houston is the ALCS Game 2 Odds favorite.

This is a team that is incredibly well rounded, which a team tends to be when they rack up over 100 wins in the regular season.
