The A’s lost to Colorado 10-7 on Wednesday after beating Milwaukee 2-1 and Cincinnati 13-5 in its two previous spring training contests. Matt Olson went 1-for-3 with three RBI and Pete Kozma went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Jeff Criswell gave up four earned runs in the loss. Oakland dropped its first spring training game, 11-6 against Houston.

Not only did Shohei Ohtani smack a mammoth home run the last time he took the mound, but the flame-throwing right-hander also hit triple digits on the radar gun. While the Angeles had a disappointing 2020 season (26-34) and Oakland mostly soared by going a polar opposite 36-24 to win the AL West, for this matchup, the Halos are the pick.

Shohei Ohtani is as gifted a player as any we’ve seen in recent years and the Angels seem to play a bit more confidently when he’s on the mound. I love Oakland’s chances of winning the AL pennant this coming campaign, but on Friday, the Angels are the easy pick.
