Why Bet On Los Angeles?

Pedro Baez (thumb) is expected to make another rehab appearance before being activated from the disabled list. Baez allowed two runs over two-thirds of an inning at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, and the Dodgers want him to sharpen up a little more before he rejoins their bullpen. He’ll work in a setup role once activated. Starting pitcher Scott Kazmir (hip) threw 45 pitches to hitters in extended spring training Saturday. “He says he feels good,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “He’s progressing. How rapidly, I don’t know and when his return is, I don’t know.” Kazmir is on the disabled list with what the Dodgers are calling a hip injury, although he doesn’t have anything structurally wrong. The Dodgers have now recorded double-digit runs in three games in 2017, which is two more than any other big league club. The Dodgers lost the 2016 series against the Cubs, 3-4, including a 1-3 mark at Wrigley Field. The teams also met in the NLCS, which was won by the Cubs, 4-2. Los Angeles has won 10 of its last 16 regular-season games at Wrigley Field and its .625 winning percentage at Chicago tops NL clubs since 2013. Yasiel Puig has been successful in his 12 regular-season games at Wrigley Field with a .425/.511/.700 slashline, going 17-for- 40 with 13 runs, three doubles, a triple, two homers, six RBI and seven multi-hit games on the North Side of Chicago. Overall, Puig has also been successful against the Cubbies, going 26-for- 59 with four doubles, a triple, three homers and seven RBI in 18 games and leading active players (min. 50 PA) in career batting average (.441) and on-base percentage (.474), while ranking second in slugging percentage (.695). It’s Brandon McCarthy on the mound. After winning back his starting spot, McCarthy delivered a quality start against the Padres last week, with six solid innings, stung only by a two-run homer from Wil Myers. McCarthy had 38 pitches through four innings. The Padres forced 40 pitches across the next two, with Myers’ blow coming at the tail end.

Why Bet On Chicago?

The Cubs’ World Series rings are quite gaudy. Each of the Cubs’ championship rings will contain 108 diamonds, one for every wait-til- next-year from 1908 to 2016. “There’s a lot of our history in it,” Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward, who has seen blueprints of the rings and confirmed they feature at least 108 diamonds, said. “It’s an awesome thing.” While 108 diamonds is a lot, it’s not a record. The Boston Red Sox’s 2013 World Series ring, for instance, contained 126 diamonds. The rings commemorating the Denver Broncos’ win in Super Bowl 50 contained a whopping 212 diamonds. Chicago goes with veteran right-hander John Lackey, who picked up the win in his season debut against the Cardinals, striking out seven over six innings. This will be his first game at Wrigley Field; he was 7-4 with a 2.62 ERA there last year. Overall in 2016, Lackey went 11-8 with a 3.35 ERA (70 ER/188.1 IP) in 29 starts in his first season with the Cubs. He recorded 20 quality starts and logged a 1.06 WHIP, his lowest single-season mark in his career and sixth-lowest in the N.L. He gone 6-3 with a 1.75 ERA (15 ER/77.0 IP) in 12 regular season games (11 starts) against the Dodgers. Lackey has not faced Los Angeles in the regular season since May 29, 2015 with the Cardinals. He did face Los Angeles in Game 4 of last season’s NLCS, allowing two runs in 4.0 innings in the Cubs 10-2 victory.

LA Dodgers at Chicago Cubs MLB Betting Prediction: Chicago Cubs

Not many regular-season games matter, but the Cubs won’t want to lose on Ring Night.
