The Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics are both chasing the division-leading and reigning World Series champion Houston Astros in what has been a pretty interesting three-way race for first place virtually all season long.
Seattle started off the season in absolutely stunning fashion to lead the division for the first third of the regular season. Then, Houston picked up the pace and has been leading the AL West for months now. However, Oakland threw it into overdrive to pass Seattle for second place and nearly overtake Houston before getting humbled by the defending champs earlier this week.
Now, after getting smacked around in their series-opening, 7-1 loss on Thursday night, the A’s will look to rebound in a big way on Friday night.
Let’s find out if Oakland can bounce back or if Seattle is the pick to make it two straight.

Why You Should Bet On Seattle?
Why should you bet on the mariners? Well, there’s the fact that the M’s are kind of desperate right now, seeing as how they are seven games behind Houston and 4.5 games behind Oakland in the AL West. Then, there’s the fact that the Mariners have won six of their last 10 meetings against the A’s, including each of the last two. Seattle also has a winning road record this season (37-31) and last but not least, the Mariners have posted an impressive 8-3 mark in Mike Leake’s last 11 road starts while also going 13-6 in Leake’s last 19 starts overall.
Why You Should Bet On Oakland?
Why should you bet on Oakland in this Game 2 matchup? Well, there’s the fact that Oakland has won three of the last five meetings against Seattle. Plus, Oakland is a solid 39-27 at home this season. The A’s also are statistically better than Seattle at the plate and on the mound where they average 4.7 runs per game to Seattle’s 4.2 runs per contest and have a 4.11 ERA among their starters to Seattle’s 4.34 ERA. Last but not least, the A’s have gone a perfect 3-0 in Mike Fiers’ last three starts and a blistering 21-7 in their last 28 home games.

Mariners vs Athletics MLB Betting Analysis and Prediction
I’m going to advise you to back Oakland in this contest for a handful of reasons. First, the A’s will have a sense of urgency and revenge after getting pounded on Thursday night. I also like the fact that Oakland has been on fire at home for the better part of the last two months.
Seattle’s Mike Leake also got smacked around in his last start by allowing five earned runs on seven hits in 6.0 innings of a 5-2 loss against Arizona the last time he took the mound while Oakland’s Mike Fiers have been phenomenal in allowing one earned run or less in four of his last five starts while not allowing more than two earned runs in any of those outings.
Seattle is just 3-7 in their last 10 Game 2 contests and just 1-5 in their last six games following a win. Oakland has gone 15-4 in their last 19 games following a loss, a blistering 36-17 in their last 53 home games against a right-handed starter and a perfect 4-0 in Mike Fiers’ last four starts. The A’s win by two runs to cover the Run Line!
