MLB Betting Picks and Winning Favorites – August 10

Written by on August 9, 2017

There are always a lot of baseball games that require your attention, but there are some that are more relevant than others. I always find it more fun to wager on games where there is something at stake, which is why I tend to bet on MLB games pitting teams that still in the playoff hunt. The Houston Astros would appear to already be on their way, but they will try to keep rolling against the Chicago White Sox. The series between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Minnesota Twins is one that has serious playoff implications for both teams. The Kansas City Royals are still very much in the hunt, and they will be hosting the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday night.

A Closer Look at the MLB Picks and Winning Favorites – August 10

Houston Astros (71-41) Vs Chicago White Sox (42-68)

When: Thursday, August 10 at 8:10 PM EST Where: Guaranteed Rate Field, Chicago TV: MLBN Probable Pitchers: Brad Peacock Vs Carlos Rodon GAMETIME WEATHER Clear 24°C/76°F Humidity 51% Precipitation % 0% Cloud Cover 16% Wind 8 mph SSE Stadium Type Open Analysis: Given what the other World Series favorites did at the trade deadline, it came as a surprise to see the Astro stand pat. This is a team in a bit of a lull at the moment with just 3 wins in their last 10 games, although they are in no real danger of giving up the 14-game lead they currently possess at the top of the AL West. The Astros will send Brad Peacock (10-1, 3.20 ERA) to the mound as he looks to keep his impressive unbeaten streak alive. The White Sox proved that they are not going to roll over and play dead in this series, as they went out and took the first game 8-5. Wins have been few and far between for this team, especially on the road where they are just 20-39. This is a team that has just 3 wins in its last 14 games, so perhaps we should not expect too much from them in the remainder of this series. The White Sox will send Carlos Rodon (1-4, 4.66 ERA) to the mound on Thursday night. MLB Picks: Houston Astros 7 Chicago White Sox 1

Minnesota Twins (55-56) Vs Milwaukee Brewers (59-56)

When: Thursday, August 10 at 8:10 PM EST Where: Miller Park, Milwaukee TV: MLBN Probable Pitchers: Kyle Gibson Vs Zach Davies GAMETIME WEATHER Mostly Cloudy 23°C/74°F Humidity 59% Precipitation % 1% Cloud Cover 63% Wind 7 mph SSE Stadium Type Retractable Analysis: The Minnesota Twins are right in the heart of a pulsating Wild Card race in the AL, where they now find themselves just a game and a half back of the final spot. Their cause has been helped by 3-straight wins, 2 of which have come against the Brewers in this series. Those wins came at home, but now the series will shift to the road, where the Twins are an impressive 28-23. Minnesota will send Kyle Gibson (6-9, 6.03 ERA) to the mound for this one. The Minnesota Twins are right in the MLB picks heart of a pulsating Wild Card race in the AL. The Brewers are starting to see their playoff hopes slip away, as they have now lost 3 straight games, putting them a game and a half back of the Cubs for the division lead. The division is their way into the postseason, as they are 6 games back in the Wild Card race. The Brewers are 31-27 at home this season, so perhaps their fortunes will change there. It will be Zach Davies (13-5, 4.18 ERA) who gets the ball for this game. MLB Picks: Minnesota Twins 3 Milwaukee Brewers 5

Kansas City Royals (57-55) Vs St. Louis Cardinals (57-56)

KC are just 3-7 in their last 10 games, and are falling further and further behind the Cleveland Indians at the top of the Central. They are going to need to improve on their road record to win here, as they are currently 3 games under .500 away from home. Jason Hammel (5-9, 4.73 ERA) will get the ball for this one. The Cardinals are slowly but surely creeping back into the division race in the Central, and are now just 2.5 games back of the Chicago Cubs at the top.
