Royals Vs Rangers Expert Analysis – MLB Spring Training

Written by on March 25, 2021

On Friday, March 26, two under the radar American League teams hit the diamond in Surprise, Arizona for a spring training game. The Kansas City Royals have played great so far during spring training. So have the Texas Rangers. Which team appears set for a victory on Friday? Check out a preview of this Friday’s Major League Baseball game between the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers. Let’s jump right into action so you can make your bets against their MLB odds.

MLB Betting Preview – Kansas City Royals Vs Texas Rangers

  • When: Friday, March 26
  • Where: Surprise Stadium, Surprise, AZ

Kansas City Royals – 13-6

We won’t know who will start on the mound for the Kansas City Royals. Pitching starters don’t matter as much when handicapping spring training games because almost every starter and reliever is on a pitch count.

One thing we do know about the Royals? Right-fielder Jorge Soler has hit 4 home runs and driven in 6 runs. We also know that Hunter Dozier is batting .294 with 10 home runs and 3 RBIs.

Both Soler and Dozier could help the Royals get past the Rangers on Friday.

Texas Rangers – 10-8

If Joey Gallo carries his spring training form into the regular season, he could be on a short-list of AL MVP candidates. During spring training, Gallo has dominated.

Joey has hit 5 home runs and driven in 11. His batting average is .281. Gallo plays center-field, which means he can’t just hang out at the plate.

If Gallo plays on Friday, and this is spring training so anything is possible, he could lead the Rangers to a victory over the Royals. Gallo is playing that well.

Kansas City Royals Vs Texas Rangers Final Betting Prediction

Handicapping spring training games is difficult. The reason is because managers are loathe to take pitchers off assigned counts. If a manager has scheduled a starter to throw 40 pitches, even if the pitcher gets into trouble and gives up a home run or two, the manager will keep the pitcher on the mound.

That’s what happens during spring training. Remember, teams play spring training games to ready for the regular season. Opening day is April 1, which means neither the Kansas City Royals, nor the Texas Rangers will go all out for a victory.

Texas and KC played on Feb. 28. The Royals beat the Rangers 3-2. The game doesn’t mean much when handicapping this because the Rangers and Royals played six innings instead of nine.

We won’t know odds until the day of. When odds do come out, the Rangers should be the underdog. If they aren’t, the Royals are the play. These two are very similar, and this is an exhibition match, which means we should allow the odds to influence our bet.

If KC is the underdog, go with the Royals. If the Rangers are the dogs, go with Texas.
